I think the earth is probably millions of years old, if anthropology and fossil records are any indication. I'm not one of these diehard literalists who wil *INSIST* that the earth's age is exactly 6,000 years. I don't care how old exactly. Doesn't make one lick of difference to me. But if the Jewish religion itself is already 5,000 years old ... :emot-hug:

But that's not so say I refuse to take scripture at face value.

they just found a 47 million year old fossil named Ida.

do people still believe that Noah was mounted on a brontosaurus when he entered the ark?

let the explanations/excuses begin....

"you see what happened was....."

"what ther devil does is...."

"carbon has errors; im not an expert but what i thinks is...."

Yeah and the fossil is already being rejected as well.

Besides, what if there were dinosaurs on the ark? I don't know if there were and it really makes no difference one or the other to my way of thinking, but what if there were? Would that shake your faith?

"shake my faith?" Jesus Christ has nothing to do with this? so what youre saying is that I have to believe that dinosaurs resided on the ark or else im questioning the bible?

well...i asked you how you feel about dinosaurs yet you have no opinion. you should have an opinion.

you should say "YES" (with confidence) "dinosaurs walked with Adam and Eve."

A Hebrew expert reader and writer should have formed an opinion by now. You don't have to be a dino-expert but as a biblical scholar you can define a stance through research and study.

I'm just saying.....

The Bible from Gen. to Rev. proves how smart God really is. Yes, it is very possible there was another creation before Gen. 1 because I have also studied this to find out the truth, so I could preach the truth to anyone listening to my sermons. (I've had a number of people ask me about this)

Lucifer, and what the Bible records about him, somewhat prove this.

However, we could go back and forth for hours and still not be able to prove either way.

I have come to the conclusion in my old age that the most important thing in the world is knowing Jesus Christ and Him crucified. So that we can get as many people saved as possible before it's too late. We need to study the Bible to show ourselves approved before God, so we can win as many as possible to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Only by studying the Word, can we show ourself approved, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

(2Tim.2:15) "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth."

Our main purpose in studying and learning the Bible is to get people saved from going to hell.

This is the most important thing. It is not so we can get people saved, or so that we have some sort of exaltation. It is just to plain and simple know Him. He wants us to spend time with Him, and get to know Him. Frankly, this is an area that I have been severely lacking in lately. Pray for me saints.

I often feel that way too, ruck. Praying for you, brother.

My friend, the main thrust of the Gospel is getting people saved so they won't go to hell.

(1Tim.1:15) "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to SAVE SINNERS; of whom I am chief."

Paul is saying he was chief of sinners who Jesus saved. The whole world had Jesus die for them. Only a few will accept though.

Yes, we are to grow close to the Lord ourself, this is important.

Also, Jesus lived, breathed, died, and was resurrected that the whole world could have His Salvation.

Genesis is a wonderful book. Imagine God walking the earth with you talking Torah everyday and just relating to Him. Adam had it all.

Yes, indeed, he did. Welcome to Worthy, btw.

No, I am asking you IF it turned out that our dating methods have been flawed and we have misinterpreting the evidence, what would that do to your faith? I asked a question, I did not make an accusatory.

well...i asked you how you feel about dinosaurs yet you have no opinion. you should have an opinion.

I just don't think it matters. I am open to it being either way.

I don't think the Bible gives us enough light to be dogmattic either way. You are trumpeting this 47 Million year old find as if it means something and it really doesn't. All it means is that lemurs existed a long time ago. It's not like this is a dinosaur skeleton that was found.

It might very well be a lemur that died in Noah's flood and not 47 Million years old at all.

Yes, but why was it necessary to save man. You think it is from hell. That is part of the package when you are in line with His enemy. No, God purpose in saving man was for the fellowship to be restored. God's purpose is saving man was so that He could have a dwelling place. This is why God saved man. God didn't save us for our sake, but for His. Once again the problem with today's gospel is...that is it humanistic.

God want to save you so that you....NO. We are saved according to His purpose...and God's purpose was never for man to go to hell. We may want to see what He purposed for man to be.

I'm done, dont want to hijack the thread any further.

How about if you both are correct. It is necessary to save man from HIS SELF because man gave him self a sinful nature by disobeying God. Which in turn separated or put a wall in the middle of the relationship man had with God. In which case the other purpose of God is to reconcile man back to God by doing away with the seperating wall.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
