Is Genesis the story of the earth's creation?

It might very well be a lemur that died in Noah's flood and not 47 Million years old at all.

Not a cat more of a primate. I just can't get over the fact that this just might be a species that just didn't make it and died off. Its like the chimp some years ago that walked upright and uncannily seemed human yet when the data was taken it found he was neither human nor complete chimp but had two genes that were different than both human and chimp making him unique. A genetic mishap of sorts just like the strange genetic things that happen to humans, excessive body hair, abnormal height. These scientists are gonna milk this for all its worth. And as I heard on a radio show last night, science will save us!

If you equate an extended life on this planet to "being saved" you may have missed a point.

I am a Biblical conservative or at least that is how I define myself. But it seems to me that the earth is more than 6,000 years old. I believe however that Genesis 1:1 is the story of the restoration of the earth from a previous state of existence. I believe that series of creative events recorded on the earth were 6,000 years ago. What say you? Am I way off base or close to the truth in your opinion?

I believe that the Bible says it all...... science has been found to be faulty in the age of the earth.... finding fossils, well, it does not take as long as they originally thought for one to form..... petrification also does not take as long (there has been evidence that it can happen in just a few years if the conditions are right, as was with the cat that was found petrified inside of a live tree)

I do not believe there was a Pre-adamic world....

I also DO believe that Dino's and people co-existed for a time......

I do not believe in any form of darwinism style evolution what so ever.... NOT, DIDNT HAPPEN THAT WAY...

as far as the actual age, a literal 6 days being created or figurative, I do not know, I will some day find out for sure, for I will be able to ask the one that does know.... THE CREATOR......

I have had thoughts about creation, I have had discussions about it, but for the most part, it is all speculative save for what the Word of God has......

No, I am not equating bodily survival with ultimate survival. But you won't have much of a chance to save your soul if you die at a young age from a preventable illness, like all those African children.

If this earth is a doever, then we are God's second plan, Plan B. Like it or not.

God spoke to Job about behemoth.

"Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. Some people say this behemoth is a hippo. First, "Behemoth" cannot be a Hippo because of Job 40:17 "He bends his tail like a cedar". A hippo has a short tail like a pig. Behemoth, had a large tail shaped like a cedar tree (large and tapered). I believe a better choice is that Behemoth is a Brachiosaurus type of large land dwelling dinosaur. It fits the description perfect.

The Paluxy River in Texas is the home of Dinosaur National Park with hundreds of fossil dinosaur tracks. Right beside the dinosaur tracks are three sets of human fossil footprints and a large cat track. The most famous track is the Taylor Trail which consists of a series of 14 footprints in a left-right pattern. The stride and foot length is consistent throughout. The evidence is so convincing that several university students recently presented with all the data accepted that the human footprints were real, but doubted the dinosaur footprints were real. All the fossil footprints in the Park are genuine. No informed person would ever suggest that the human footprints were carved as was irresponsibly rumored 50 years ago. It is clear that man and dinosaur live together and co-existed at the same time. With this both science and the Bible agree!
