Hi Lomi,

I read lots of honesty from this post... not many of us would openly admit our weaknesses in public. That is why the Lord has these youth looking up to you for guidance. Do not shy away from this responsibility.. Its God given. Please pray and take up the challenge.

Be blessed

John

Lomi, don't panic. Study. Pray. Study. Pray. Well, you get the point. It has been said that God doesn't call the qualified, but qualifies the called. None of us are perfect and if you could look into the corners of the lives of anyone you look up to you will see things that are less than perfect. You get depressed? Well, one day there will be a young girl who will need to talk to someone who also deals with depression. You have a temper? Others do, too, and need mentoring from someone who is dealing with this problem.

Then ***** said to the LORD, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD?

Who said that? It is suprising how many imperfect people God has chosen to do His will. But those He chooses He also teaches. I am sure that you know that it was Moses who said those words in Exodus 4:10-11. Read about the rest of his life. He killed someone....talk about a temper! But God chose him and he eventually said yes.

Maybe you need to go have a talk with the two senior pastor's wives. I am sure they will have some encouragement for you......and probably tell you about their own personal problems they are overcoming.

I am thanking DADDY at the moment for all of yall in my life.

Thank you so much. I really do appreciate it.

I thank yall for believing that i will be able to do it, though I may not think I can.

Once again sry for troubling yall so much with my fears.

I will go into a fasting & Prayer concerning this.

I pray & hope that I will be able to do this, cuz without DADDY's help I will make a mess of everything.

GOD Bless yall,

 Don't be sorry. We all need each other.

There's a Proverb, something like "a friend if born for adversity."

Oh, here it is:

Prov. 17:17 - A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

I struggle with depression, too. I have learned that depression and anger are flip sides of the same coin. Both are a result of pain in your life that needs to be healed. We all have wounds in our lives, but they affect us differently. Some of us cope by falling into depression. Insecurity is just one of the aspects manifested with this mess.

Although it can create problems, it isn't a disqualifier from ministry. I mean, everybody has "issues" that create problems in ministry. Even the original apostles showed evidence of issues they had to work through (i.e. Paul seemed to have had a short temper, Peter had "foot in mouth" disease - aka speaking without thinking).

The good news is that you can find healing in Jesus. And likewise, as you work through your depression, your hurt, you will better be able to minster to those who are likewise hurting.

There's an expression about God doesn't call the equipped but equips the called.

That's where the "taking a step of faith" comes into the mix.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

(Deut. 31:6)

The phrase "I'm not" is a direct tool of the devil. The Holy Spirit you have been given, doesn't tell us "I'm not".

I would pray about it. Father never calls anyone that He doesn't equip to do the job. You need to get His perspective on your situation. I know that He wants to use the body as well as those who are leaders. The leaders had to start at the bottom of the "totem pole," and that's where you think you are now. Your name's not Gideon, is it?

Hugs,

Darlene

Family,

I'm sry to be such a nuisance, but I need some advice.

Some off our youth girls said that I am their mentor, and it shocked & scared me.

Me a mentor? They must be crazy in thinking or choosing me.

My hubby & me work a lot with the youth. I spend a lot time with them and all have my personal numbers.

I'm freaking out and don't know how to handle this.

I told them yesterday they need to pray hard about it, cuz I don't think I'm the right person to be a mentor.

I have so much issues, then there's my depression, my temper. Geeeewizzz what are they thinking?

I need to calm down. wow. How do i tell them in a nice way, they need to choose the 2 senoir's pastors wives, or someone else in church as the mentors?

Plz do tell me, as I am a wreck.

I will dissapoint them, I normally do dissapoint everyone. And I love the so much I don't want them to get hurt by me.

lv,

lomi

Blessings Sister!

First, I will admit up front that I have not read any replies for a reason. What I want to say is what God has shown me.

We are chosen by God to do the work He has for us, not us picking and choosing what we want to do for God. If God has placed it on the hearts of these children to look to you as a mentor, it is He who is doing so. If you discourage them from what is in their hearts, how will they trust their hearts in the future?

This may be the tool God is going to use to help you with the issues you have stated you have. If you refuse to use this tool, you may not find the healing God has for you. Through the love of a child, I came to Jesus. Through the love of a child, my walk has been strengthen. Don't be so quick to dismiss the calling God has for you because of your unbelief in yourself, but instead, seek Him to assist you to do the work He has for you to do. He will give you what you need to do what He has asked you to do.

Remember the words of our Lord.

Matthew 18:5 (New King James Version)

Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
