Some often quote these verses in this sort of topic:-

Isaiah 11:6 And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,

And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,

And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;

And a little boy will lead them.

7 Also the cow and the bear will graze,

Their young will lie down together,

And the lion will eat straw like the ox.

8 The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,

And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper

Do animals have souls? Will our pets be with us in heaven?

What do you guys think?

I once found a scripture that I used to show it was possible, just something to use for children, but I can not remember what it was.

Sharks must have been given very mean souls if they do?

I have a very cute and loyal dog, but keep in mind that pets often become feral if they go back to the wild, and more than a few have killed their owners who only ever treated them well. Christian the lion is a remarkable story, but animals have no conscience or morals they only react to stimulus and instinct.

We will have no family ties in heaven and only common affection and love for them, so it is unlikely we will pine after our pets.

The undulating raptures of Gods glory will rise and subside with ever increasing intensity and variety for all of eternity.

George Carlin once said, :If dogs don't go to heaven, I don't wanna go. I want to go where they go." Meantime, check out this link:

http://www.worthychristianforums.com/Paws-...95#entry1227595

Start with the first post in that thread.

So was George Carlin basically saying he would rather go to hell? and that dogs mean more to him than God?

Well, I guess that would depend on the definition of "soul" to know if animals have it. Is having a "soul" how humans get to heaven?

:24: What have you got against sharks :24: They are just doing what God made them to do :24:

Joh 14:5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?"

Adam Clark has this to say regarding Ecc. 3:21

...Solomon most evidently makes an essential difference between the human soul and that of brutes. Both have souls , but of different natures: the soul of man was made for God, and to God it shall return. God is it's portion, and when a holy soul leaves the body, it goes to paradise. The soul of the beast was made to derive it's happiness from this lower world. Brutes shall have their resurrection, and have endless enjoyment in a new earth.

Re 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away, and there was no more sea.

2Pe. 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for a new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

It seems to me that we will have the same job on the new earth as Adam did in the garden..." to dress and keep it "...this would include caring for the animals I would think.

If a soul is defined as "mind, will, and emotions" then I would say animals definitely have souls! Any pet owner can tell you about the personality of their animals. My first cat, for example, knew how to push buttons. I mean, she was very clever in what she did to get people to do her bidding. She even got a house guest who hates cats to escort her to her food dish one time. :24:

But what happens to an animal's soul after it dies, the Lord has not revealed it through Scripture. I hope to see my pets in Heaven. And I hate it when cold-hearted people  uncompassionately state that animals don't go to Heaven so get over it.

But I leave it to the Lord.

hello,

It would appear from Ecclesiastes 3:21 that the spirit of an animal at death goes into the earth and is not bound for heaven as man's may be "Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?".

Also scripture seems to imply that beasts (animals) are not tripartite beings as man is but rather possess only a body and spirit. It was Adam (Man) that became a "living soul".

God bless....

Horses Too?

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:11-14

I believe those horses originate from heaven and were never earthly 'pets'. I agree with bornagain92 re: earthly animals. May our Lord bless you...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
