It is an interesting question. Especially given that the prayer Jesus modeled for us told us to pray, "thy kingdom come"

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Psalms 42:1

Revelation 1:1a--The Revelation of Jesus Christ,

Revelation 19:11-17---And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. vs 12--His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. vs 13--And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. vs 14--And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white an clean. vs 15--And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. vs 16--And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS, vs 17--And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

( That promise was made by Jesus Christ our Lord and it's the final promise that is made in the Word of God. Jesus closed out His revelation to mankind saying, "surely I come quickly"...)

Revelation 22:20--He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Revelation 22:6-21

Sometimes I think the phrase is just a cop out by people who want Jesus to do the work for us that we should be doing right now.

Ecc 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

Ecc 3:2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

Ecc 3:3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

Ecc 3:4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Ecc 3:5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

Ecc 3:6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

Ecc 3:7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

Ecc 3:8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.

Sometimes we just think we don't have the time (there is always time, it is just how we manage it), and the easy way out is to say "come Jesus", and fix this thing, do this thing for me........

It's going to be Ok because Jesus is coming just does not cut it for me, that is why some of the doomsday prophets upset me so much. It's like saying, Ok I am saved, told Jesus I love Him, now I am going to sit on my butt and hope it all comes crashing down around me so that I can get my reward in heaven. Na uh...won't work like that.

There is a time, and I am here to tell you that time is now!

Even though I agree with Fez, I must admit that I have used this phrase more then once. Usually I use it when I am worn out from a spiritual battle or when I see more hate mongers then usual. I don't see this as a negative statement, but the deep desire for righteousness, knowing that it will only get worst before He returns.

Brother, so have I. But then again we are only human, and sometimes things just wear you down.....

I want the Lord to come now; it would mean that the full number of Gentiles will have come to Him and His plan is coming to final fruition.

Where do you read anything about a number of Gentiles? I read about the time of the Gentiles, not a number.

If you read about the things that must happen before Jesus returns, I have a really hard time with this expression. At least 5 Billion people must die and more than a third of the world destroyed. I have a few friends who have not accepted the Lord try as I may to convince them of thier need, and they will be forever cursed when our Lord returns. I have close relatives who fall into that position and it tears my heart out to think about it.

Maybe if He will tarry a little longer they might see.....

True, but doesn't anyone want Jesus to come just for Jesus, not for what He will do?

I think it is a forgone conclusion that people want Jesus to return to finally be with Him, but why does it have to be either/or?

I want Him to come particularly for the things He will do. We are told to expect and to look forward to those things. So I don't see how it could be wrong or selfish to want Him to return for what He will do. I want that glorified body and everythnig that goes with it. He wants me to want stuff like that so I don't see that there is a problem for me to want for myself the same things that God wants me to have.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
