I am trying to get my spiritual life back together after a long time of just feeling numb. I am on disability so I'm home all day. I find myself at a loss, though I have devotional books and bible studys on hand. Any suggestions. Angie

Ya know.. i think we all go through that at times. You just find yourself in a spiritial death valley... Life sometimes just sucks out your will to do anything.. i know how this is.. i tend to find myself in those times every once in a while... emotional pain, physical pain.. circumstances just tends to drain you.

This is where a sacrafice of praise comes in. This is time where I have to just get real with God in my prayer life. No more going to God with the same old tired prayer that has no depth to it. I have found when you get real with God he gets real with you. I have just laid my cards on the table with God telling him how i feel and why i feel that way.. then i ask for him to come in and calm the raging sea of my soul and ya know what ? He does.. like a soothing balm he pours out to me his spirit and grace and I feel calm and close to him again.

So just pray and tell him how you feel, ask him to come in and make dry bones come to life again.. take me back to that first love.. Praise brings the presence of God.. he adores praise.. so you will feel that love of God come back to you again.

Scotty =o)

My personal thing..... when I wake up, I check my blood pressure to make sure I didn't forget to take my Benicar the night before.

If I still have a pulse, I thank God for bringing me through another night and ask Him what he wants me to do. I'm retired but only slightly handicapped, so there are things I can do for him physically. I do work at the church or at our church camp when I'm feeling ok.

I find that a lot of times he wants me to pray for people. It's gotten to the point when he can just put in on my heart off and on day and night. The two AM. disasters are not always pleasant, but they are fulfilling.

Whatever I do day and night I constantly talk it over with Him. If you're cooking, ask Him what's for dinner?....... and listen.

There are times when I'll just go be by myself and take my Bible and ask Him what he want's to fill me in on today and randomly open one of my Bibles up and just start reading. Usually before I stop there is some really revelant to today thing that pops up. Many times things I had not noticed before.

Most important is to never stop making Him a constant companion..... good times and bad....... and never ever forget to include Him in those good times, with both verbal thanks and just feel goods because you know He's there.

I find when I don't do these things, my life generally falls apart and I end up miserable and doing things I have to regret later....... or worse find I should have done something and didn't that had a negative effect on someone else....... Always stop several times a day and pray for someone....... especially for those that hurt you.

Hi Angie! I have been disabled and at home now for close to 10 years some days are much longer than others thats for sure. I spend time on boards like this reading, in study of God's word and listen to talks, sermons and the like. The beauty of the internet for me is that I can pop open a talk and go about getting things done also, other times I sit here listening and taking notes that I use to search through the word for clarification and better understandings. Getting into a routine is really important, if we work outside the home etc. we have a routine so establishing one for yourself might be a good for you.

What Do You Do Daily To Keep Spiritually Full?

I slip out at night and flatten the car tires of all the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses in my neighborhood. :39:

Seriously, read, read, and read the Word and good Christian books. Witnessing is another great way to stay spiritually fit. Having long spiritual talks with fellow believers is another good way. Have Bible studies in your home, or create a Christian book club where you and some friends read Christian books and get together and discuss them.

And if all else fails, I can tell you how to flatten a tire is 2.3 seconds.

Hi Angie and Welcome to Worthy!

Besides studying scripture and praying, we read in Philippians 4:8 ... Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy

Quiet time for prayer and especially praying for others helps me so much. I enjoy reading the Bible, also. But, it helps me to pray for others. Lastly, it sounds cliche - but counting my blessings and praising, praising, praising God for so many gifts. :39:

I worship Daddy in song and sometimes dance--it welcomes Him in. I have a conversation with Daddy, reading His Word and letting Him speak, too.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to reply to me. I appreciate you.

I will be working to implement many of the suggestions here.

Thanks again, Angie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
