:o:huh::emot-LOL:

You are wrong. There are plenty of people that resurrected before Jesus. There was a boy resurrected by a prophet. The guy who fell from the window while Jesus was speaking, Lazarus, etc

The guy who fell from the window, fell from the window while St. Paul was preaching in a house church in the Book of Acts, after the Ascension of Jesus Christ to the Right Hand of the Father in Heaven.

There is also a very big theological problem here if Jonah did NOT die.

it means the sign of Jonah was not a sign of a resurrection and the major starting point of the Christian religion didn't happen.

HUH??? :o

Looking at Jonah two it does seem that Jonah was in fact dead at one point by the words he uses. (such as Sheol and referring to being in the pit)

Consider this thought:

Jonah 2:1 - Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the stomach of the fish,

So was Jonah in Sheol or in the stomach of the fish?

It's not a theological problem at all.

Matthew 12:40 - for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Jonah did not have to die in order for this to be a sign and a type.

"Hell" in Jonah2:2 was figurative, symbolic, not the "real" place. Consider the verses in context with a few others, emphasis mine:

Jon 2:1-5

(1) Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,

(Notice, he consciously knows where he is.)

(2) And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

(Still consciously knows where he is "out of the belly, hell being "symbolic" as to how it must feel, not the real hell itself)

(3) For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

(He is still very aware of his surroundings, floods about, waves passing over him...)

(4) Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

(He knows he is out of God's will, but looks to "symbolically" look towards God's holy temple.)

(5) The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

(He is still very much in a conscious state aware of where he is. He "feels" the weeds wrapped around his head.)

A number of commentaries say very similar things, the below is for Jonah 2:2

Jon 2:1-5 NASB

(1) Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the stomach of the fish,

(2) and he said, "I called out of my distress to the LORD, And He answered me. I cried for help from the depth of Sheol; You heard my voice.

(3) "For You had cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current engulfed me. All Your breakers and billows passed over me.

(4) "So I said, 'I have been expelled from Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.'

(5) "Water encompassed me to the point of death. The great deep engulfed me, Weeds were wrapped around my head.

This was kindda pointed out, but I want to emphasize it...

Jonah was alive while he was saying all these things! He was alive in the belly while praying!! What he said doesn't inpact the fact he was alive in the belling while doing it.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::noidea:

1 Corinthians 15:20-23 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the "FRISTfruits" of them that slept. For since by man "came" death, by man "came" also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. "But" every man in his own "ORDER:" Christ the

"first"fruits;" afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

(John 11:1-45 (Lazarus) )

I understood your thoughts in reference to Jonah in the belly of a big fish

Elijah prayed for a boy to be risen from the dead and he was. Also, before Jesus died, Lazarus rose from the dead.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
