Oprah, What Are You Thinking....?

I must admit that I don't really know a whole lot about this topic or trans-gender children, but I do agree with LadyC about letting kids be kids. Some girls just like to be tomboys it depends on your environment, your influences, there are a lot of variables here to take into consideration. People have given Oprah way too much power and its gone to her head. She is not a good role model, but some people are blinded by her smooth talking, all the money she gives away and her vast empire. Still some of us forget she is just a human being like the rest of us and will have to give an account of herself before the throne of God, you can't get to heaven on good works alone. And I'm sure she knows that, but chooses to live in and be a part of this world. But I've never seen a U-Haul behind a hearse, she can build up billions of dollars but she leaves this world with nothing just like she came into it.

My daughter has said for years that Oprah could fit right in as the Antichrist. I am beginning to see what she saw many years ago.

Haha I had a health teacher a few years ago that showed Oprah for our class lessons about certain diseases, disorders and life circumstances. It was HILARIOUS. She took it very seriously.

Oprah has become more and more of a cult-type of leader than anything else. It appears that she has bascially created a religion of her own, with her and "Dr." Phil as the figure heads. I have seen more and more women follow these two people's advice more than following what God has already set forth. Another example of someone who is being worshipped like their a god. :sam: :prayer

Thank you for your posts regarding this topic. I am sick in my stomach right now after reading what I've just read. It doesn't seem that long ago, that the Pulpit was the place for moral values to be expoused. Now a breed of amoral tv evangelists, talk show hosts, and reality tv stars, who cloak themselves in a veil of abstract genteel moralism, have set our hearts and our minds on edge.

Just as we are outraged at the often offensive content of the internet, so we should also be justly abhorrent to the content of todays television shows.

IT is true that we should pray for Oprah as she seeks to decieve, mislead and pontificate using her television show as her pulpit.

How true. The sadness of this whole thing is that she may believe that leaving some of that to charities and the fact that she has given so much already is what will save her. I really don't even think she thinks about it because of the humanism in her "doctrine". More than likely, she thinks that just doing "good things" on the earth is what it is all about without any eternal reward. If what is done is not in the name of Jesus Christ (and no man can confess Jesus as Lord apart from the Holy Ghost), it is not of the kingdom of God. However, I will give her this much: in helping to feed the hungry in impoverished countries (she does do that, doesn't she), she is at least helping to keep them alive physically until they can hear the Gospel and receive Christ. Nevertheless, physical life is not all there is....there is eternal life in the spirit of man in union with Christ.

I have resisted this thread all day. I cant beleive this was an issue for her. I was a tomboy, played with trucks, built forts, caught frogs......never owned a barbie, hated dolls. My friends were boys. I was as tomboy as you can get. I dont wear makeup or wear fancy clothes. But never once did I ever doubt that I was all female. Never once did I ever think of women as I do men....or more properly, my husband now. That show was ridiculous. Those kids were being taught to regard themselves as different. This world gets filled with more garbage and sin every day.

I posted on this subject under the movie ratings..... as in the ratings being used a bogus.... and specified Oprah and this peticular episode....

these people also need to have their heads examined, as well as stepping back and examining their hearts to see where they fall in line......

I do hope they all realize that they must stand up before the Lord and answer for their own actions.....

I agree. And the contributing factor in that decption is not her advice but the fact that she is rich and gives money to charities. That's a wonderful thing but it won't help her before God. In the world, if you have a lot of money and you give some of that away, you are seen as a "good" person and we all know that it is just "good people" who are saved, now don't we . As long as she sees her works as something that, should there really be a God, she can use for bargaining power, she will be one of those who say, "But did I not prophesy in Your name and cast out demons?" She may be doing these things and putting God's name to them but if she does not receive Jesus as Lord, she is as lost as a goose in a snowstorm. Doing good things as an unbeliever makes you no more saved than committing a sin while a believer makes you unsaved.
