I don't usually do this on Worthy because of the mixed response one always gets, and the "discussions" it usually starts :cool2:

But here is the story.

We attended a church leaders meeting tonight. I was exhausted from a 400 mile one day drive on 4x4 tracks through the park I work in, and on top of it a fire I had to sort out just as I got home. But I went to the leaders meeting because I love them, and i told south if I start snoring kick me.....

My pastor approached me just before the meeting, which was great as usual. Tonight, a good soup ( I don't really like soup, but I was hungry), and good worship with a single guitar and all of us worshiping and praying.

What my pastor said to me before the meeting was, "lets have coffee in the next few days, there is a position we would like to offer you in the church (not permanent, and non paying, which does not make a difference to my decision, I have a good job that I love). You and South need to pray about it, we will tell the church if you say yes (we always give the church the opportunity to voice their opinion, and say if they have a problem with any new position), and we will pray you into the position at our church camp in July."

I thanked him and went into worship and prayer with my brothers and sisters in the leadership team.

Then the Holy spirit, while I was worshiping said this...

"No steeples, just raised hands"

"No bells, just raised voices"

"No floors, just my foundation"

I have some thinking to do, South thinks it means, no frills, just worship.

And I am left to wonder if this is a yes or no answer to the offer. Or encouragement on how to act in the position.

Any ideas?

I can serve without title. Title will not enhance my serving.

Agreed, you don't need a title to serve. However, with the way the delegation of responsibility sometimes happens, a different title can afford you different areas of contact, or MORE areas of contact, and greater ability to serve. If the title is something that will interfere with you being able to serve, then I would turn it down, but if it's something that will help facilitate your ability to serve, and therefore increase the ways, or areas in which you can serve, then by all means, jump on it.

A steeple is made by man and raised up by man, your hands are created by God, rasieing them is a sign of submission= stay submited to god through pray and worship.

A bell is something that makes noise, where as lifting your voice, is a purposeful act done from the heart = Don't bother with a lot of vain words, instead speak the truth in love, without condoning sin, from a heart a christ

A floor is something that we stand on that man made, where as your foundation is the rock Jesus Christ = stay rooted and grounded in christ, not the doctrine of man.

I think it is very clear that what the Holy Spirit spoke to you was stay submited, speak from the heart while standing on your foundation which is Jesus Christ. I truley believe he was telling you how to proceed if you take the position. what to do to stay in his will. How to do whatever it is in faith so that it pleases GOD.

Yep I see that same answer in the words, but I need to decide (with lots of prayer), what the Holy spirit is telling me to do.

Try the spirits to see if they be Holy. Praying and fasting over this decison is Godly way to proceed. I will be praying that you will follow his perfect will.

Do you know what the position is and what the duties involve?

When I read the words spoken to you, it could either be instructions on how to operate, or it could mean God doesn't need structure (i.e. church functions) in order to operate or His plan for you is outside of the building.

I don't know if knowing what the position is would bring clarification to the puzzle, but there is a chance it might make more sense?

I find working without a glorified and 'honoured' title just humbling doing the work that I have been assigned is best. One needs no glory from man only the love and support of the Father and His guidance the most fulfilling. Titles make one proud and 'puffed up' where the support of God gets the work done.

So no accolades from man only God's support and guidance in this new task is what you are being asked to do. Find out what is being asked and take it to God in prayer and you actually know the answer already. He will be there to support you. God bless in this decision.

A position can change a man, it can possibly change from the Lord's work to doing 'busy church work' which the Lord has not called you to. That piece you received may be warning you to remain a "loose cannon" for the Lord.

Fez, if it's just a temporary position, it may well be that the Holy Spirit is passing on instructions that you need to know in doing this job.

It's not the building, it's the people that makes up the church.

It not the teaching of man or the church, but Jesus himself that is the foundation for us.

It's not the music that matters, just the raised voices of the people...... that's what God hears.

It sounds like a message that any church needs to hear these days.

I would think about it interfering with all the things you are presently doing, and discuss with the pastor ways to make sure it doesn't squelch your present walk.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
