IF you dig deeper, you will see that they believe Jesus is Satan's brother, and much more. If you just read their literature, sure, it will sound fine. If you dig into the core beliefs and place it beside scripture, you will see a difference. Then one is faced to believe scripture or the Watchtower. They stick with the Watchtower.

Where can I find out the info on .... they beleive that Jesus is satans' brother ?

Seems their beliefs are almost as worst as the muslims.

JW... they donnot believe in the trinity....same as muslim.

JW....That Jesus was Michael the archangel ......muslims believe that Jesus was just a prophet and was not crucified.

JW....They changed their bible over 100 times since 1941. ( I think that was the year).....muslims' made their own bible and their God is named Allah.

JW...is cult ...I read.

Hi LS,

One place to start is evidence ministries, he and his wife have been witnessing to JW and Mormons for years.

The Mormon Jesus is the half brother of Lucifer, the JW Jesus is Michael.

There are good sites you can find run by ex JW and Mormons also. The thing that throws us about cults is the use of terminology. When they speak of grace or spirit or resurrection, they don't mean the same thing as we might assume, that's why questioning is a good approach, it's also a good way to keep the conversation on track and steering it into truth. If we are able to show them the correct understanding of these things we are showing them truth.

Even if we are not actively speaking to people caught up in cults, going over these things can gain us a better foundation in the basics of our faith and allows us to move on into the weightier things of the Word. As the writer of Hebrews puts it, 5:14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.

This statement is made after an introduction of an Old Testament character Melchizedek and then he goes on in ch 7 much deeper into Melchizedek. Law, grace, priesthood, heavy subject matter but without milk, without meat we have a hard time grasping these chapters.

Practicing the possibility of speaking with and having opportunity to speak with a Mormon or JW or Muslim or any other lost soul absolutely will expose weak areas of our understanding, especially in the elementary teachings about Christ, It's good practice. Not that it's the only way but it sure works.

If someone is invited to a home they can / can stay, even eating and drinking as an invited guest. But God commands His people not to go from house to house uninvited, annoying people, this is what J.W.'s do. I showed them this Scripture, "Luke 10:7," and asked them what they thought? They have never came back. They actually have a "Do not visit list," I believe I was put on this, Thank God!.

"And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. GO NOT FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE. (Luke 10:7).

Thank you ...I will keep that verse in mind.

So, the woman I knew from where I worked...JW. She was going door to door on a Sunday and saw me at my door.

I invited here in .

When I asked her if they believed in Jesus and His death and reserection...just to share

our beliefs...she told me JW's...do believe that.

She was deceiveing with that...and didn't tell me ...that their belief is that, Jesus is Michael the archangel.

Hi GojuBrian,

Without a doubt, they are out to dialogue with you to convert YOU as JohnDB said!!! This is their reason for dialogue. They can and do confuse new Believers in the faith.

That being said, if you are firmly grounded in the Word of God, they are a great bunch to "witness" to!

Generally when they come to anyone’s house, there is one who is well grounded, and the other a new JW learning the ropes.

The good Lord many times has the new JW convert greatly questioning their false faith when I prayerfully present the True Word of God as Jesus Christ ALWAYS has been the eternal God the Son, the Son of God, and NEVER Michael, but in fact the Creator of Michael. Salvation through Christ alone, the reality of an eternal Hell, the forgiveness of sin.

Sadly though many times at this point, the mature JW one realizes what is going on, and quickly makes for the door. The last two I had were actually speeding out of the driveway as I was praying for their Salvation. As with others, I generally get "blacklisted" for a few years, then they end up trying to "reach me" again, only to repeat the process.

Years ago I had been witnessing to a newly wed couple that were my neighbors for sometime about our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ, and I had the thinking they themselves were truly considering repenting and believing on Jesus Christ.

At the time, I was on the JW temporary "blacklist." Don't ya know, they pulled in across the street to speak with this couple while I was mowing the lawn? As they got out of their car, I cut my mower, pointed in their direction as they headed for their front door and yelled: "God warned us about the false prophets in the last days!!!" With that they all hurriedly ran back to their car and sped off without talking to this couple. Thank God.

The book Onelight mentioned "The Kingdom of the Cults" by Walter Martin comes highly recommended. I purchased it some 20 years ago and it is a great intro into many a cult mindset. Consider also that some of these cults have been infiltrating the Church for years, and to a great degree have been successful in the ecumenical mindset where Truth shakes hands with Error.

We have since purchased other copies and handed this book out from time to time to others.

Some great verses posted by coheir!

Also, the JW NWT (New World Translation) is quite cultic in of itself. It removes the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ! They will put up with the KJV to a point, until it comes against their false doctrines.

Zemeke, thanks for posting some of their false teaching and another apologetics site added to my list!

This is another one that kills me in the NWT

Hebrews 1:8 NWT

But with reference to the Son: “God is your throne forever and ever, and [the] scepter of your kingdom is the scepter of uprightness.

This is how they try to wriggle out from under the translation:

Hebrews 1:8 (KJV)

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

God the Father says to the Son "Your throne o GOD..."

They say God is your throne...

Pretty stupid.

But these are the lengths JW's will go to disbelieve what the correctly translated Bible teaches that Jesus is God incarnate and is the sole Creator in the beginning.

You must really have it in for them. You wrote three lengthy posts back-to-back criticizing them. What did they do to you that has caused you to feel such dislike for them? Care to share with the forum?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
