I wanted to be like God, having vast knowledge.

:hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

Gee, I do believe I read somewhere that some other being wanted that too. I also recall, that it did not turn out well for that being.

:halo:

Sage, in case you do not understand ...

Genesis 3

4 And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die,

5 for God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 ¶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make wise, she took of its fruit, and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

Altho satan also wanted to be like God. He isnt.

Sage

I kept unrealistic goals, goals that cant be met. But now

think I settled down I prayed a few times went to church once or twice and i did not get rid of the problem obviously but I

feel i have more of a control over my desires.

Oh son, you are missing the entire point of why Jesus died for you and who God is.

You cannot go to church and pray a few times for answers or for God to "help" you. This is Christian "very lite", and has no substance.

You need to find a good church, a good pastor, and you need to listen to him when He talks to you about surrender and sacrifice.

The problem is that those two words are not what we want to hear because they demand, well, surrender and sacrifice, and we like to do neither. But they are the path to wisdom and knowledge, and much more importantly, eternal life resting in God.

You are 15, you go for the now, the quick fix, I can understand that.

But please find someone like I suggest and talk to them.

Blessings

Sage, the problem with going on your own is that you can be easily led astray into false things. You should get in with other believers in a church.

I admire Michael,

Gabriel, Raphael, Metatron, Emmanuel, Uriel and more.

Aww...you missed Emma.

:whistling:

((Disclaimer: There is a point . . . think about it.))

what are you talking about????? :emot-questioned:

Believing in angels that are not mentioned in Scripture. A questionable minister made a big deal about an angel he supposedly met named "Emma" - that's the simple version.

"Raphael, Metatron, Emmanuel, Uriel" - who are they? How do you know they are real angels and not inventions of man?

Angels are God's servants, His messengers - they are not to be exalted.

But all i want to do is please God, I don't want to anger him.

I not a bad person. I just don't like going to church because

I don't feel it's needed I just read the bible and talk to God

every now and then.

Sage, pleasing God isn't about "being a good person" or "not being a bad person."

Jesus said, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent." (John 6:29)

When a rich young ruler who was faithful to the Torah came to Jesus asking what was needed for eternal life, Jesus instructed him on the principle of laying down his life - surrender his idol (his wealth), love others (give the proceeds to the poor), and follow Jesus as one of His disciples. (My paraphrase)

You love your knowledge. Do you love others?

You follow the path of illumination. Do you follow Jesus?

You see, it isn't about not angering God. The wrath of God was satisfied at the Cross - Jesus paid the penalty for the wrath of God with His shed blood for the atonement of our sin.

What it is about is loving God and loving your neighbor.

THIS is what pleases God! :)

I want to say something here to the adults. Sage is only 15 years old. Who was wise at 15? Certainly not me. We ought not to jump down this kid's throat. We need to show him love and compassion, because that is what Jesus would have done. He said he spoke with a therapist so that means he's having a difficult time growing up. That's no surprise. Growing up today is harder than ever, and it was always hard. He desires wisdom and that's a good thing. However, wisdom is not something you can learn by reading a book, or taking a class in it. You can learn about other wise men that way, but you can't learn to have wisdom.

I once asked what is wisdom, and one answer was it's knowing what to do with knowledge. And this is why you can't rush it or learn it in a book. It comes with time and age. Let us please not be harsh with this kid and let us please keep him here. He needs to read what we who know God have to say about the various topics that come up. He needs guidance and who is better equipped to guide him than people who know God? No one other than God Himself. So let's answer his questions, pray for him and help him. If God answers our prayers, he will walk away from the new age. In it is nothing good.

Sage, if you're still here, listen to me. You likened reading about the new age to a physical addiction, as in with nicotine, and right you are. It is like a physical addiction. Various things can cause this reaction. When this happens in the mind we call it an obsession. People can get obsessed with all sorts of things. But wisdom says beware all obsessions. They take you over. The problem with the new age is that there are real evil spirits associated with it, and within it. When it comes to the new age, you need to back off it since you feel an obsession with it. By doing this you will save your mind so can grow and become wise. I hear you asking for help. I think you desire wisdom to help yourself. I tell you the truth, you will not find wisdom in the new age. But you will find it with God. So talk to God, and talk to us.

John

Well, I don't see anything wrong with wanting knowledge...... maybe even vast knowledge... but that first part about being like God tells of something within your personality that is extremely dangerous. That is what Lucifer the illuminated one also felt..... It was the origional problem with Eve, she wanted to be like God...... it's what got the world into the mess it's in.

give some real thought to what you're saying here....... and woe to you if you already know all that..

Attn: SAGE, please don't take it wrong, I too am a artist, and do understand much of what you try to say, I do not even know what "New Age" is, so I can not say it is good or bad, But this is from the Bible,

Isaiah 14:12:

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

And Lucifer, is one angel, the worst, PLEASE, don't get mislead into following it. From what I understand, so many did, including Adam and Eve,

As artists, we often can sense, a closeness to GOD, that others may not understand, our desire, to create, is part of GOD, however, we need to always, keep in our hearts, and minds, GOD is the "MASTER",..we can not, and should never even consider, trying to go "above",.. ahh, but if we seek a more humble place, at HIS feet, perhaps as a "foot stool"

Many people here may get "angry", but I have found many Catholic priests, to be of great wisdom and help, like any other church, there are many shortcomings within the catholic church, and that would be another topic.

And contrary to what many say, in every mass, at least at the churches I visited, the priest, starts and closes with " In the name of the Father,SON,and HOLY SPIRIT, ", However, again, this thread is not intended to start a controversy about the which churches are correct. If anyone wants to start a topic on that, they should, maybe there is one.

The art work, that has been preserved and collected by the Catholic Church, is painted, and done by many artists, and many under "devine inspiration".

I am not sure what a "sage" is, ?? perhaps another topic,..I always thought a sage was just a plant, a bush, perhaps it was a sage that was "burning" when GOD, spoke to Moses.

So sticking with angels, and this dose not mean "worshipping" them, They are mentioned from time to time in the Bible, both good angels and bad ones, GOD created all of them. This one mentioned in Jude 1:1 , Michael the archangel,

9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

I can relate to because at one point in my life, or Was it just a dream ?, any way, it was me, that the angel , Michael, was disputing about, and so I learned ,later, I too can always do this my self,

"THE LORD, rebuke thee, get away from here,""..and the devil or demon, what ever, must obey.

for now that is all from me.

Just want to say, though Sage, don't let some of the others discourage you, I appreciated your posts and comments,..and hope to see more. thanks from Garry Actually it dose not say, it was a angel,it says it is a man,

Genesis 32:24

24 ¶And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. * 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. * 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. 30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Genesis 28:12

12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. 13 And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; 14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. * 15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. 16 ¶And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. 17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

Interesting "dream",.. so this is where the angels are mentioned. And Jacob, being true to GOD, continues worshipping GOD,..

Which is how we should be too, no matter what we "see" in our dreams, we need to be sure, our faith, and our "worship" is in and for GOD.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
