Let me throw this into the mix.

1 Samuel 28

Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.

4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.

5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.

6 And when Saul enquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.

9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?

10 And Saul sware to her by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.

11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.

12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.

13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.

15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

Did Samuel's spirit come up from Abraham's Bosom, or was it an imposter?

The Bible says that Samuel spoke...... it was Samuel.

I used to spend time in ghost haunted areas just for kicks. I have experienced and seen things that cannot be explained. I prefer not to discuss them because I have since recognized them for what they are. Demons. Something to distract from the Lord. I no longer seek out haunted areas.

I think samuel was a one time occurance. The witch seemed surprised by it all. I believe God permitted it for one purpose: to tell saul some things.

I don't know if ghosts exist or not, but I can tell you that in an area in building one at Tinker Air Force Base there is a phenomenon that gives one pause. Where I used to have to go service high speed printers was the morgue during World War II. I worked around this location for more than 20 of the nearly 40 years I worked in that business and I don't know of any person who worked nights there who did not have interfaces with something that appeard to be ghost activity. If they were demons, they played a great game with folks.

One could hear them talking, and one could see them (and when I say them sometimes 20 or 30 at a time). They would interact with people. I've had them steal my tools and move things around while you were standing there watching them. I've had at least ten to fifteen screw drivers just simply disappear to never be seen again. Vacuum cleaner parts go under the computer room raised floor across the room in a far corner was a favoriate trick for a couple of them.

It finally got so bad for me that I had to demand in Jesus name that they go away and leave me alone every time I had to work there.

One of the ladies that worked there would invite them to go home with her and spend a few days and she had some real tales to tell.... none of which I would believe except i was there and saw them for myself. i know at least 25 people who had the experiences and a few that quit and would not talk about it at all.

i don't know what they were/are, but they dressed in outfits and uniforms of the mid to late 1940's and had many different accents as though they were from all over. whatever it was/is i didn't like it at all, and try as I might, I could never make them go away completely, probably because too many people who worked around there didn't want them to.

To answer your question though, yes i have spent the night in a most haunted place....... many many times and got paid well to do so. And got my work done in spite of the critters...... whatever they were.

But I would add that when the people who worked there had to go out on deliveries and at two to three am when one was completely alone in the place, it got very unnerving at times. When you're setting in the floor shoulder deep in a printer and you look across the room and a stainless steel table comes rolling across a perfectly level floor at you, you just want to have a runaway.....

Im not saying there wasnt some demonic activity going on, there very well may have been, but on the other hand, some times the mind does play tricks on you, and there may have been a prankster in the midst. I will, admit, that I can be a prankster-Ive been known to "move tools" and stuff like that on a few of my superstitious friends. Just because Im ornery that way, and I get rise watching them completly flip out thinking theres a ghost floating about.

Now, admittedly, when I was in college-it was all one building, and a very very old building at that-and sometimes, when one was all alone in the dorms, it would sound like people walking around in the hall. Ive head these steps, so did everyone at the college. It was kind of eery. Now, Im sure there was a logical explanation-it was an old building, someone may have been walking two floors down and sound carried, it could be settling, or even nerves, but I will admit it could be unnerving at times. But I know it wasnt ghosts, and I even doubt demonic activity, it was just one of those things old building plus human frail minds (that and we were known to stay up late watching horror movies on occasion)

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be again...... I personally believe that much more than just giving in marriage is meant by that verse.

Maybe I'm just nuts, but I'm still kind of spooked about Satan telling all the folks in the past that their gods would return on or about December this year.

Not that we should be worried to death about it........ but we've got some serious stuff to get through before the end that's not a cakewalk.

hmmmm, maybe that is the 'great deception' talked about in the end of days?

And btw it's perfectly ok with me if you don't believe a single word I just wrote, for I doubt I'd believe it myself had I not been there.

I can believe what you said. I've seen a lot of things over the years that can't be explained by "normal" means myself.

60 pound stainless steel tables crossing a perfectly flat floor and running you over from 50 deet away is pretty difficult to imagine Pat.... LoL Especially when you're there alone.... LoL

But hey you can feel free not to believe me if you like, I might not believe it myself if I hadn't been there...... and for years and years..

But is something going on?

Absolutely

What do you think?

Demonic... with variables I don't think we know about and if God wanted us to know, we would...and I agree it was Samuel....the Bible

states that it was

What answer must we give for all of this?

Stay away...it's not harmless.

Should I have started this thread?

Sure

These things are real all right....I have had more than my share of the spooky and never went looking for it....I think some people

are just more sensitive to it....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
