This just gets better and better ...

Now they are making a tv special on this.

Billed as a "factual drama," the film and book will tell the story of Jesus "as a beloved and controversial young revolutionary brutally killed by Roman soldiers and recounting the seismic political and historical events that made his death inevitable and the changes that his life brought upon the world for the centuries to follow."

Bill said the book will be out in September and a movie is in the works. Though Bill may be right on political issues and the direction this country is headed, he should of stopped there. I believe Bill will loose many of the Christian right with his book, let alone the movie.

I can hear the spin already. I will guess that he will say, when questioned, "It was based on facts, facts that I found in my research."

OK, what O'Reilly said was, "Do you know why Jesus was killed by the Romans?"

So he wasn't saying this is why Jesus "lay down His life," nor why the Sanhedrin sought His death, but rather why the Romans would have arrested and charged Him.

So, I don't think he was being heretical in this regard.

Whether he's being accurate, I don't know. Scripture tells us what charge the Sanhedrin brought before Pilate, but it doesn't state how they got the Roman soldiers to arrest Jesus in the first place.

The Sanhedrin had to bring Jesus to Pilate and make Him out to be an enemy of the state. They could have stoned Jesus, but the feared the people because the people saw Jesus as a prophet.

They threatened Pilate. What I learned was that Pilate's career was hanging from a thread. Being assigned as a procurator over Judea was not a promotion. It was the last chance before losing his career and possibly exile. There is a very strong tradition that Pilate was finally sent out to remote outpost in what is now Switzerland because of he botched.the handling of a Samaritan uprising. It was in Switzerland that it is said he committed suicide and they have mountain named after him in Switzerland.

I have read the same thing. With a couple of differences. Judea was not a promotion so agreed. Pilate was heavy handed there, doing a huge number of crucifixions, to the point where the Jewish people were objecting to Rome. Supposedly Pilate was warned not to continue and create unrest.

I thought I had read Pilate ended up in Gaul. Maybe Gaul is France and Switzerland? I'm not sure.

As Bill believes much of the Bible is allegorical, I wouldn't trust him to make an accurate movie.

I watched a little of Mr. O'Reilly last night and happened to catch a partial on his dialogue with Bret Hume and Mr Hume could hardly get a word in ... O'Reilly interrupts his guests

so much while they are trying to answer the question he put to them, I wonder why he can still manage to get anyone on the show. He thinks very highly of himself it appears

He has really taken on alot with his latest book....more than he should have. He would have been better off not touching this one...reminds me of the Tower of Babel for some

reason.......I will reach up to heaven.....look at me

Yes, we are looking

Just for clarification -

I wasn't trying to justify what O'Reilly said, just pointing out that the criticism ought to be on what he actually said.

This just gets better and better ...

I could easily list Church leaders who essentially rolled out the red carpet for those who stole America as much as their 501 C3 allowed them to... making it appear that their way is God's way.

Funny, when you read the Bible for God's side of these things... he's interested in looking out for the poor. Not in such a way that it is a write off from taxes but in a real honest effort in finances and food and medicine and shelter.

And not hand outs either. He told the Jews not to reap to the very edge of their properties to allow the edges and the corners for the poor to work (glean). No hand out. But a provision that would stab through the heart of most greedy @#$^|]$ who would sell their own mother into sex slavery to support their livelihood.

And we (yes me too) followed these bozos and voted the way they said would be best for everybody... which when I think back on it I am sickened by the fact that I voted against the well being of my own family so some silver spoon could have a 12th mansion somewhere posh in the world.

"The private sector creates jobs..." they told us... only the left off the rest of the statement... "creates jobs... overseas."

I don't know who is more stupid... those who tore down the protection at the borders for American labor and small business... or we who keep reelecting them to run what's left of the nation.

Gingrich chaired NAFTA and GATT. Rather than impeach and imprison him, we let him run for POTUS. And he nearly got the GOP nomination.

Then comes the next point. People I have worked with in the apologetics mission field who I fought JW's and Mormons with elbow to elbow with still see nothing wrong with voting for an LDS President of the formerly Christian United States of America.

Let that hang out there for a moment in cyber space as we all consider just how much we have sold our souls to the devil to keep our lifestyles of foremost importance.

I sound the alarm in the town I live over the invasion of LDS and JW's and no one raises an eyebrow. No one signs up to accompany me door to door undoing the damage the cults have done with their false form of Christianity.

People can't be bothered.

They don't want to rock the boat.

They don't want to stop doing their thing to put out the spiritual conflagration about to erupt in their small town.

I'm going to put the period there. My intense frustration is showing.

Amen! I personally don't vote. When I was a waitress a customer got on me after I told him I wouldn't vote because I didn't like the choices. He said "Well it's always like that, you still gotta get out there and pick the lesser of the two evils." No, that's okay, I'd prefer to not choose either evil. As far as people not wanting to rock the boat. There are no real revivals anymore. I feel like getting a bullhorn and marching through my town. People are not set on fire for the Lord anymore. Here is an excerpt from "5 Steps to a Genuine Revival" by Ian Paisley. He is still just a man, but I like how he puts it in this particular sermon about how we cry dry prayers, and put all our energy into out recreations instead of into the Lord:

"Fellow believers, we need to give an urgent consideration of our ways, top priority in our

Christian life at the present time. We have a description here of the plight of the people of

God in the days of the old prophet. Look at verse six. “Ye have sown much, and bring in

little.”

4 Is that not true of the Christian witness of today? What activity there is. They

remind me of what old Billy Sunday said, “The churches are like a canary in a cage,

much activity, but no progress.” And there are many churches like that.

God says, “Ye have sown much, and bring in little.”

5 And, my, we have churches today

that are geared up in top gear with activity. My, the whole machinery of the church is

working at full speed and force. But have they moved their town for God? Have they

raised Lazaruses from the dead? That is, have the foremost sinners in their neighborhood

been born again? Have they made a vital impact against the dens of iniquity and the hell

holes of the devil in their community?

Alas, today many of our fundamentalist churches just merely decorate a site for the denomination.

And as far as a vital impact for God upon their district, it doesn’t exist.

The Church of Jesus Christ was called into being to pull down the strongholds of the

devil. The church of Jesus Christ was called into perpetual warfare against the powers of

darkness. The Church of Jesus Christ was called to the hottest part of the conflict with the

world, the flesh and the devil.

But the militancy of the church is almost nil today. There is not many fighting fundamentalists

left. We shun the battle. We are afraid to declare war on the enemy. Oh, we

sow much, but we bring in little."

I wish they wouldn't. It seems to me these movies they do about the bible and Jesus do more harm than good. They don't line up 100% with the bible and there is often an undertone of how dare God allow this. What I'd like to see someone do is read a chapter out of the bible either on radio or tv and then tell people call in and tell me what you think this means. I'd watch that.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
