Or do we just think we do?

John 13

21 When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” 22 Then the disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom He spoke.

23 Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.

25 Then, leaning back[d] on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?”

26 Jesus answered, “It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it. And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 Now after the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” 28 But no one at the table knew for what reason He said this to him. 29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.

30 Having received the piece of bread, he then went out immediately. And it was night.

31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. 33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Zion, this looks like a good question, I'll refrain from answering, but can't wait to see how others answer this.

I can't answer either until I know who "WE" are.

Brother Paul is on the right track. What I want to add is that the Love Jesus was referring to isn't just the emotion of love. For most people, when they hear the word love, they think of the feeling of love. All too often, in today's world the emotion of love is very selfish. It's all about me and how I feel. That's the opposite of what Jesus meant. The love Jesus meant is described by Paul in 1 Corinthians. It means to help our fellow human, even if we don't like that person. That's what Jesus meant. To be kind and have compassion for each other, regardless of who they are. Jesus said we even have to love our enemies. He didn't say it was easy. But He did say it is necessary. I know a lot of people who call themselves Christians because they love believing God loves them, and is going to bring them to Heaven because they love who they imagine Jesus is. They're nice people, so long as you don't ask them for anything, at least not anything they don't feel like sharing with you. So I guess I have to say forgive them, they don't know what they're doing. If I don't say that, I become just as bad. I fail everyday too. But I try not to fail as bad today as I did last week. I try to learn to be what Jesus wants us to be, as I go along.

And it gets harder all the time as our world and country make sins into legal behavior. But if such a person needs help, and I can help, I have to do so. If I don't, then I too am in sin.

It is said that Christians are the only ones that "kick thier wounded."  Seriously, I don't se a whole lot of love in the church these days.  I see lots a gossip, back bitting, church splits, and other wonderful things.  I was just invovled in the church split where a really great annionted couple started a church and their decons tried to take it our from under them.  We seem to be just as angry as everyone else.  We use politics to divide us.  I doubt this is the church Jesus had in mind.

Being angry is one thing. It's what we do that counts. The example you gave was wrong behavior and feelings. Remember, love as described in the Bible is more about how we treat each other, not how we feel.

But you're right, we don't feel love and we don't behave with love. I hate to think how far The Father is going to let this go, before He sends Jesus back. I keep thinking of the verse that says if Jesus didn't return when He does, there would be no flesh left alive. That may mean Jesus won't be back for a very long time.

I know that God alone can measure our Love. The greatest Love I can comprehend is to Love our enemies... Loving those in whom we often receive nothing but increased hatred in return, and many times the hatred and resentment grow, as you give Love and receive increased hatred and resentment. This Love is manifest in " Forgive them for they know not what they do ".

I confess, I concern myself more with how woefully short I am in Loving God. I pray often for God to show me how I may Love him better, and the simple answer seems to be in "that, that you do unto the least of my brethren, so do you unto me" ... it matters not whether the least is spiritually or materially deprived, it matters that we recognize all that we are is of; God's Love, Grace, and Mercy. We ought give freely what God has given freely to us, with a glad heart..... Its amazing to me that God has so intertwined our Love for him as an outward expression of how we Love the least....... Loving the least or our enemies would seem backwards a world absorbed in ME, ME, ME but, to me it our way to proceed forward down the narrow path of perfecting our Love......>

As to your question, I can only answer for self......... I do not Love as much as I should, I have much more room for improvement, I Trust that God is not done molding and teaching me, or I would not be here to write these words.

Much Love to all my brothers and sisters

No sometimes we really do not have the love for one another that Christ wants us to have.I don't think we will have the true unconditional love for each other until we get to heaven.I do not trust most people on this Earth but I will trust and have true friendship and love in Heaven.

Do I love you guys?  I haven't even seen your faces.  Does that matter?  What I have to answer before God is whether I have followed through His commandment to love you?  If not, then what should that look like in action?

If you mean lay down your life die for someone love, no we don't have that sort of love for everyone. We have it for special people in our lives, but not all people.

Not like Jesus...........

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
