I'm not fond of summer in Mississippi but I LOVE the people! It's a culture thing.

Same with Alabama. It's that southern hospitality I enjoy most.

People still bring a covered dish and don't show up without one; they might visit forever but always seem to know intuitively when to leave; the're always good hosts/hostesses and offer their guests "sweet tea" (or coffee) upon arrival and they mind their manners and don't allow phone calls to interfere with a guests' visit.

They just have GOOD MANNERS and are hospitable. You feel welcomed and valued among your southern friends.

I'm thinking about relocating to Texas. I love the history of Texas and the culture in general. Texans are a tough people who've been through the fires of afflction and still have a gentle side to them as well.

They're tough and hard-headed but honest and loyal....and I like that.

From the Land Downunder it is going to be a scorcher tomorrow, it is set to be 35 degrees.

Thomas I see you do not like Winter, so imagine you are in sunny Australia right now by the beach. Arghhhhhhhh........... sounds great does it not???

I am not a great lover of Winter, but our winters do not get as cold as the US.

Your winter of 35 is pretty darn cold for Florida. That's 'bout as cold as it gets on a super cold day.

It rarely goes below that ever...but it has happened on rare ocassions.

Its as cold as I can remember in 42 years here in Houston. I saw on the news last night that the Texas panhandle is experiencing some of that white stuff...you know, like what Santa rides around on when hes not in the air. I think it could be that hmmmmm...snow stuff. Ive actually only seen once or twice but I think thats what it is.

Here in the desert of Southern Calif we seem to be having a mixed bag. Two weeks ago it was in the teens, three weeks befor that we had 18 inches of snow. Last week it was in the 70's and now were in for a whole lot of rain and it's pretty cool again. Who knows whats going to happen next week.

Well it is 41 F. here this morning at 2 am and will most likely make it up to 60+ today.

I can speak up with the California folks...we had high winds here yesterday and it is raining now...I think it is about 40 degrees. But I love winter....as was said before, we get a mixed bag of temperatures...but usually it is warm and dry....rain is wonderful to me.

As I get older, it is harder to shovel horse manuer outside and care for my one remaining horse.

Sunny California is not so sunny today. It's actually raining really hard today, but it's still a beautiful day.

This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice in it.
