Can people become an angel?

       other one is far from ignorant,as far as his reply to your statement was .....it is taken out of context...the definition or translation of "angel" is "messenger" but their description  (seraphin & cherubim ) are given to us,it appears in Gods Word that they are sent to us "as" messengers but that their Heavenly Form is not like anything we have ever seen.....& we are not going to become angels.....they are a separate created being ,I gave my answer on the first page of this thread

Can we become an angel after death?

If you are talking about a body like the angels I think so.

You will be of a different class of angels(the Bride members)

 

2 Corinthians 5:1-2

¹  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Having a heavenly body is one thing, but we are not angels, as in a different class of angels.  The differences between angels and humans are too vast to even consider the idea.  Becoming an angle is one of the false teachings being taught to us as kids through, in my lifetime, cartoons, of people dying, then the next time you see the person, they are sitting on a cloud with wings and a harp.

I think the only thing different between man and an angel is their body.

God will knows who are Angels from heaven and he will know who was of mankind, no big deal for me.

 

There are far more differences then just a body.  Were angels formed from the dust?  Did angels have have the life breathed into them?  Do men walk among the alter of God and be sent from His throne with messages to the world?  Do angels have spouses and procreate? I could keep going, but I hope this is enough to have you take a second look and not just skim over the idea.

 

The people who make it to heaven are going to ruling with Christ with the rod of Iron, they are Kings and Priests.

So I think they will have a message to give during the next 1,000 years.

I am not convinced that this is true. The only people we read that will be with Christ in the millennium are those who were beheaded during the tribulation and the 144,000 who go everywhere the Lamb goes. There is no mention of all believers ruling during that times, unless I seriously missed something. Can you provide scripture that tells us we will reign during the millennium?

 

Plus, as it was mentioned already the Angel talking to John was a saint that has already made it with his heavenly body.

Where in scripture does it say the angel in Revelation was a human, died and is now in heaven as an angel?

 

When I think about being like the Angel I am thinking about that heavenly body like they have.

Revelation 5:8 speaks about the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders. There is no indication who the 24 elders are or if they ever alive on this earth. People try to say they were, but do a search in scripture. Who they are is not clarified.

As for the harps, yes, they will be harps, but not as portrayed in the cartoon, but for worshiping God. Have you ever seen the cartoons I am referring to?

Before you give up on this, ask yourself why there would need to be male and female genders in heaven. If we are going to live forever, will there be a need to bear children and is childbirth ever mentioned in the next life? Will we need a helpmate when we are with God?

I don't see why God would wipe our identities.

Care to expound on this through? By identities, do you mean the natural man? If so, remember that sin is not allowed in heaven. Heaven will not be like our lives on earth, nothing like it at all.

Rev.1:6 we be kings and Priest

Rev.2:26-28  rule with rod of iron

Rev.3:21 overcomers on the throne Rev.20:4 those on the throne reign with Christ 1,000 years

Rev.19:10 This angel is a brethren to John and was a prophet.

So this person is already there giving John the message.

So this person must have died to get there.

These four beasts and 24 elders came from humanity.

Rev.5:9  redeemed from every kindred and tongues and people and nation

it simply means that we (in the form we will be in) will not be married in heaven.......      it is not saying that we will be angels.....     you can't take sentence fragments like that and get the full contextual meaning of much of anything.

The 'form' of the "spiritual body", the body of incorruption Apostle Paul spoke of, is the angelic state in the heavenly. It is the form, or like Paul said, "the image of the heavenly". That's all that is required, because the word 'angel' does not mean a specific heavenly creation, it simply means a 'messenger' per the Greek angelos.

 

I thought we would be like Jesus, and Jesus came back as himself after he resurrected. Pretty sure Jesus is male

 

 

Our Lord Jesus is... the Resurrection and The Life. So there it is.

 

Notice His resurrection body was able to appear suddenly in the midst of His disciples, not having to go through a door entrance. And as He suddenly appeared among them, He suddenly disappeared from amongst them also at another time at supper.

 

That reveals the resurrection body is of a different dimension than our earthly flesh body. His body could be felt when touched, He ate fish and honeycomb, in all instances after His resurrection appearing as a normal human form.

 

This should be no huge mystery, because He appeared to Abraham at his tent door back in Gen.18, along with two other men which turned out to be the two angels He sent to Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham prepared food for them and they did eat.The sodomites saw the two angels as two young men, and asked Lot to bring them out to have sex with them. Those angels stayed in Lot's house, supped with him, and stayed there the night.

 

Even in Heb.13 we are admonished to be careful to entertain strangers, for some have entertained angels and didn't know it. Per God's Word, when angels have appeared on earth to man, they had the image of man. The definition of the Archangel Gabriel's name in the Hebrew means 'man of God', showing the image of man originated with God's Own Image in the Heavenly. This is why the title "sons of God" for those in Christ's Church is put for women also.

    There just is not enough information about angels,archangels ,seraphim,cheribim , the 4 living creatures & lucifer/satan and the fallen angels to know what they look like in their true form....which we will one day know but for now anything we do know is mostly stipulation because it is in part......we only know the angels descriptions as they "appeared" to men and they come in a form as men look....I can only imagine that if they ever appeared in their true form it may be too much for a human to comprehend.......

    We can all agree on what the Word of God says ,,,,,1 Corinthians 15........we will not be flesh & blood and put on our new,incorruptable bodies,perhaps that may be like some angels ,maybe not................but we will not become angels in the same way a cat is not a horse ,neither is man an angel

I've read that angels can be sent to earth as humans to do work for God. Like saving lives and being mentors and things like that. Read stories of things like this, but they are usually not Christian related, but spiritualism related.

Is it true angels can become humans and do things like this?
