Dr, Ben Carson (pediatric neurosurgeon, John Hopkins) gives a moving an insightful speech at the national prayer breakfast. He hit so many nails on the head, you'd thing he had a nailgun.

I would like to see him run in 2016.  I trust him to turn things around for the country.

Saw this recently on a car bumper sticker, there are those that would like Ben Carson to run for the Presidency:

“Run, Ben, Run.”

Me too!

Update, Nov 5, 2014:

It appears that Dr. Carson has registered as a Republican, perhaps the growing groundswell of support has convinced him to consider running.

Funny thing to me is, that so many think Republicans are racist. As a party, that is demonstrably not true historically, at least compared with democrats - this always intrigues me. Sadly, my favorite potential presidential candidates, going back for many election cycle, seem to be black, but they never get picked as the parties candidate. How ironic and how frustrating. Maybe this time will be different, but I highly doubt it.

It's crazy that so many people believe Republicans to be racist.

1/ The Republican Party was started as an anti-slavery party.

2/ The Democrat Party was behind the Ku-Klux Klan

3/ The Democrats were behind segregation and the Jim Crowe laws.

4/ The Democrats were against the Civil Rights movement.

5/ LBJ has a famous quote about getting (certain people) to vote Democrat for the next two hundred years.
