To which I'll add (Speaking of Christians) ...

 

(1 Peter 2:9) "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"

 

"Royal Priesthood"  =  Kingly Priests

 

Only 3 are mentioned in Scripture as Kings and Priests:  1.  Jesus, 2.  Melchizedek,  3.  Born Again Christians. ...

 

 

@ this point, (and I can't see anything in Scripture that will nullify it) it appears "The Church" reigns with Christ Literally in the Millennium.

Another strong point, no, a conclusive fact ..

 

When Christ returns, two gatherings take place ..

 

Christians are "supernaturally" gathered to Christ in one mass reaping event to meet Him in the clouds .. result .. Christians are gathered ..

 

Yet throughout the OT, we see Christ returned and a very mortal gathering of Jews takes place worldwide where these Israelites must make their own way .. by beasts, horses, mules etc, and by foot .. to Israel ..

 

So these are still flesh .. still mortal .. thus ..

 

One spiritual gathering .. one physical gathering .. meaning the kingdom has a dual population of flesh Israelites & of spirit saints overseeing / teaching / ruling / guiding those human Israelites.

 

What a wonderful plan God has planned.

The word `on` is the Greek word `epi,` meaning `over` the earth. We need to look at all the scriptures pertaining to this topic to find out the meaning. Enoch 2021  has some good points relating to the Body of Christ being King priests, however we will reign, I believe in the 3rd heaven where Jesus tells us - Rev. 3: 21.

 

`to him who overcomes, I will grant to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame & sat down with My Father on His throne.` (Rev. 3: 21

Hopefully, it's not this one....(2 Peter 1:20-21) "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  {21} For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

It can't be the third heaven, because this kingdom the saints will be ruling in will be ..

 

Daniel 7:27
    And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

 

Under the whole heaven ..

 

3rd heaven ..

 

2nd heaven ..

 

1st heaven ..

 

AND ..

 

>>Here<< ..

 

The kingdom will be .. "under the whole heaven"

 

And what is under the whole heaven? ..

 

The Earth.

 

And the throne will be earthly too ..

 

Isaiah 9:

 

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

 

7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

 

The throne of David has only ever been on earth.

 

Thus :

 

Matthew 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

 

The Lord must come to earth which is under the whole heaven before He can sit on this throne.

 

Then this will be likewise fulfilled  :

 

Luke 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;

 

Because :

 

Zechariah 2:12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

 

Which means this too will be fulfilled :

 

Luke 22:30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

 

Where ..

 

Matthew 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the KINGDOM of heaven.

 

And ..

 

Acts 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

 

Again:

 

Zechariah 2:12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

 

Because .. This is His earthly inheritance.

 

And once the millennium and a season (1000 yrs plus some) is done ..

 

This happens ..

 

1 Corinthians 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

 

God is up in heaven ..

 

Therefore for the kingdom to be delivered up to God in heaven .. the kingdom must therefore be down here on earth.

 

And where the kingdom is, there too is the throne.

 

David's throne .. an earthly based throne ..

This is an interesting thread and I appreciate the views that are being expressed. I come here to learn and I definitely have much to think about and absorb and for this I am thankful to each of you for your input. But I have to admit after reading the entire discussion I'm left with a question. Which way is up? : ). LoL. If someone could just point me in that direction.
