The Satanic and New Age conspiracies some evangelical Christians perceive are chimeras. The Left Behind series, the idea that climate change theory is inspired by left wing New Age beliefs, the belief by some that there is an intelligentsia that subscribes to New Age philosophy are all aspects of this. What is on the rise in the West is atheism and an increase in people with no religious affiliation and closely associated with this is humanism. Atheism, naturalism and materialism underpin Western thought and its ideas have difused into contemporary Christianity. Pentecostal/ Charismatc Christianity has experienced dynamic growth in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and parts of Asia while many Euuropean churches have become large ornate sepulchers attended by the aged.

I don't see a question for discussion, only statements on what you see.  Which point in your statement would you like to discuss?

Any of the ideas expressed can be commented on. It did not seem to fit clearly into any category so I chose General Discussion. I suppose it could be moved to Worthy Opinions although presumably my comments may provoke some discussion..

I think the problem might be that your statement is very general and rather sweeping.

Why would you try to dismiss New Age teachings and climate change nonsense from the mix?  ALL false teachings, philosophies, and systems are under Satan's control -- indeed all the political, social, religious, and economic systems are presently being manipulated by him to detroy economies, foster conflict and warfare, promote terrorism, increase false doctrines in the churches, and generally turn people away from the truth while blinding them to the true Gospel.  That is why he is called "the prince of this world" and "the god of this world" in Scripture.  The world is being prepared for the coming Antichrist.

If one looks at 2 Tim 3:1-5, we are seeing a fulfilment of this prophecy in what is going on throughout the religious world today. There is greater and greater rejection of and resistance to the truth worldwide, and greater and greater acceptance of the lies of Satan.

I don't see how the fictional Left Behind series could possibly fit with anything satanic or new age. Do you consider all fiction to be satanic or just that which is based on Bible prophecy? And the fact that global warming has been made an alarmist propaganda agenda of the progressive marxists is what engrages most conservatives.

I think that the assumption in the op that all pentecostal/charismatic churches are growing because they are sound is false. 

 

Yes I said it. False. There are some pentecostal/charismatic churches that incorporate false teachings and cross into the new age nonsense.

 

There are certainly some churches that are not pentecostal/charismatic churches that are quite sound and thriving too.

Then, may I suggest you open your eyes to what God is doing.  You seem to be focusing on the enemy so much, you are missing His movement.    But to answer particular statements, my thoughts are as follows:

These are not fantasy creations, but satanic and humanistic religions.  Why stop with just these tow?  The list is much, much longer.

This movie is not satanic nor new age.  If is based on the writers understanding of scripture.  Personally, I believe the timing is off, but then again, it is fiction based on scripture.  I think you placing this movie in the mist of this is wrong.

I agree, every false religion or belief is basically started by someone who is considered a "deep thinker" , which people follow instead of scripture.

I see this statement as a partial truth.  Once again, you have left out many of the other false beliefs that are at work to undermine scripture and what Christ did for us.  At the same time, I see many discovering that what they once thought was true, due to someone they trusted in teaching them, come to know the truth when encouraged to be as the Berean's and search scripture to see if what was being told to them true or not.

People love emotional things, which is what plays into a lot of today's popular movements, even in Christ.   It is not long before the emotions die down and they are faced with reality.  As for the Europeans, they do not draw people to God, He does. 

 

The problem I see is that the world will not give scripture, or God, a minute of their time if it does not involve something they are interested in.  Because of this, evangelistic movements are not what they use to be, neither are the moralities of the kids today.  The body, the true church, needs to do more one on one with people to make it personal.  Otherwise, those who are lost will continue to believe that the message they heard is not for them.  Just as God has a personal relationship with us, we need to have a personal relationship with the lost, one that speaks to them personally.

I see a lot  of New Age and False doctrine activity in our Churches and our world today.The Left Behind series was fiction.The concept behind the series which is the Rapture is not false.It is Biblical.
