First of all you need to know what a winepress looks like.  It was circular, had a channel with a rolling stone set in it.  The stone was rolled from a pivot point.  The stone was moved by oxen or men on the outside of the press.  Grapes were thrown into the channel from the outside.  The liquid was collected from the inside of the channel after being crushed by the wheel.

So will it be with Armageddon.  The crush is from outside - in.  The armies of the world enter from the outside, from all directions.  Their blood is diverted to the inside of the press, up to the height of the horses bridle.  If one looks at the Valley of Megiddo where Armageddon takes place, it occupies about 180 square miles, a large vat.  If one looks at the size of the armies going to Armageddon, they may occupy as much as 500 square miles, maybe 1  1/2 Billion people and many with horses.  How long will this take?  All this as Christ sits atop of a cloud (Rev 14:14)

The birds of the air clean up much of the flesh of men and horses.  How long will this take?

The valley of Jehoshaphat is where the nations come to be judged. At the beginning of the Mill.  Christ gives them direction on what He expects from them.  The Feast of Tabernacles, come each year.

Water does not flow out from the Mt of Olives.  Zech 14:8 says that living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea.  East and West, not North or South

rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia

where does this fit into the story.   1600 stadia would be down the Jordan river through the dead sea almost all the way to the Gulf of Aquaba.

The Valley of Jezreel; Megiddo sits on this plain and it slopes toward the Mediterranean Sea not the Jordan River.  1600 strata is approx 180 miles (this also is about the same sq miles as where Armageddon is [a vat]).  Also from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea is only about 50 miles.  And yes it is about 200 miles from the Sea of Galilee to the gulf of Aqaba.  A lot of choices for where the 1600 strata is.  I go will the winepress [vat] appearance (well contained).

In other words, down the Arabah to the old territory of Edom.

Isaiah 63:1 Who is this who comes from Edom,
With dyed garments from Bozrah,
This One who is glorious in His apparel,
Traveling in the greatness of His strength?—
“I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”

2 Why is Your apparel red,
And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress?

3 “I have trodden the winepress alone,
And from the peoples no one was with Me.
For I have trodden them in My anger,
And trampled them in My fury;
Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments,
And I have stained all My robes.

4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart,
And the year of My redeemed has come.

One thing to keep in mind is that at the 6th Seal, which comes before the events being considered here, "every mountain and island [shall be] moved out of its place." Rev. 6:14 So we cannot presume that the hydrology of the region will be exactly the same as today.

Hi Montana Marv,

It seems to me you are forgetting a fewthing s -

1. 2/3rds of Israel are killed. `And it shall come to pass IN ALL THE LAND says the Lord, that 2/3rds in it shall be cut off & die...` (Zech. 14: 8) Thus I believe that the great army assembled at Armageddon will come down throughout the land of Israel killing all Israelis enroute to Jerusalem.

2. Surrounding Jerusalem. `But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.` (Luke 21: 20) The final surrounding of Jerusalem has yet to happen & that will be when the world`s armies come down from Armageddon, throughout the land of Israel, till finally they surround Jerusalem. where God says His wine press is.

3. God`s winepress. `Proclaim this among the nations: "Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men"....Assemble & come, all you nations, & gather together all around. Cause your mighty ones to go down there, ...Let the nations be awakened & come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow...(Joel 3: 9 - 13)

So we see that it is in the valley of Jehoshaphat that the Lord will bring the world`s armies, deal with them there & then also judge those that are left of the nations.

Actually MM the living water comes about when the Lord`s feet touches the Mount of Olives & the mountain is split in two.

`And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west, making a very large valley;....& in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, half towards the eastern sea & half of them towards the western sea;...` (Zech. 14: 3.4. 8.)

I see that as the living waters coming out from the split in the mountain & flowing to the Mediterranean Sea (West) & to the dead sea & Jordan river in the east. The mountain opening up would have released water that is under there.

Marilyn.

Living water comes out from Jerusalem once Christ has come in from the East Gate and filled His Temple with His Glory and then dwells in the Temple.  Then the Living Water appears.

Jerusalem has been in the hands of Satan and the Antichrist.  No need to surround it, they have it.  The thing is, Jerusalem is not destroyed here, it was in 70 AD though.  If Jerusalem is destroyed as you say, Christ cannot enter through the East Gate.

Remember, Israel has already fled into the mountains with the A/D being set up.  Since the Jews are now East of Jerusalem and protected, this will allow the army out of the South to come through Jerusalem on their way to Megiddo and Armageddon.  The 200 million army from the East never make it to Jerusalem, they die at Megiddo.  The army out of the North die at Megiddo, as does the army of the West (Europe, A/C's army).  No place in Scripture does it say the 2/3 are struck down by these armies.  Maybe by Satan when he chases them (Rev 12:13).  The armies out of the North, East and South all come to fight Satan (Daniel 11: 40, 44), but when they see the Lord of the Heavens in the air, they go to fight him.

Hi Montana Marv,

OK we see differently from where the water comes from, but no matter, for it comes & flows throughout the land. PTL.

Now I don`t see all of Jerusalem as being destroyed by the world`s armies. Remember also the great earthquake & its damage.

Also I don`t see all of the people of Israel fleeing to the mountains, only some.

And finally we see differently as to how the battle of Armageddon takes place.

So we`ve each had our say & still think differently. So looking forward to chatting on another topic bro.

Marilyn.

I agree, but 184 miles is a really long way

Edom is the "spiritual land".  The land of Esau who represents those who gave away their birthright.  You wont find it on the map, because it's all the people who fight against the Lord.  They all belong to that "land" spiritually speaking that is desolate,... and by rejecting Christ, they forfeit that birthright Christ offered every man that would come through him.  Instead they get blood.

The armies will be gathered right outside Jerusalem.  Not way down south, but just outside the city.  That whole valley of Hinnom there is where the armies will be slayed.

Jeremiah 7:32   Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place.

I beg to differ. So does Isaiah:

Is. 34:6 For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah [an Edomite city near Petra],
And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

Is. 63:2 Why is Your apparel red,
And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress?

3 “I have trodden the winepress alone,
And from the peoples no one was with Me.

Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes.

Rev. 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. ... 13 He was clothed with a robe soaked/stained in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

These are two different battles. In the first against Edom, the Lord, fighting alone, stains his garments with blood. When he later descends with the armies of heaven, his garments are already stained with the blood of the first battle.

Revelation 14:20   And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

The Armies only GATHER at Armageddon for the war against the Lamb, then they come down to the VALLEY OF HINNOM and spread out there just OUTSIDE THE CITY.  This is the WINEPRESS, right there,

...THEN...

The Lord destroys ALL OF BABYLON.  The ARMIES first, then BABYLON, which is why the Lord comes with his garments stained.

There is no battle in physical EDOM.

Edom is the spiritual land of Esau's children, who sold their inheritance.

You have refused knowledge because it contradicts your DOCTRINE. Therefore the TRUTH is trampled once again.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
