If she got the details wrong, and because she got the details wrong satan was able to tell her truthfully she was wrong, I think that's grounds for confusion that satan then could use to deceive her.

When God asks what happens, she says she was deceived. Nothing is said to contradict that, and because she was deceived by the serpent, the serpent was punished.

If we cannot recognize how satan uses confusion on issues to deceive, then how is it we will recognize such deceptions of his?

Another question I have - why are you so eager to paint Eve in such a totally bad light?   Adam's fault was the greater for he was not deceived.

Genesis 3:2 The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die."

 

Eve knew not to eat it.

then why does God lay the sin at the feet of Adam....    says that Eve was deceived..     any way you look at this the Bible firmly places the fault of the fall of mankind at the feet of Adam.

Eve deliberately decided not to submit to God.  No she was not confused, she stated God said not to eat of it.  

It was a conscious decision.  Adam also was not confused.  They both knew not to eat.  Deceived, lied to, etc. does not negate our personal wrong doing when we know it goes against God's word.  Bad decisions are made, then the finger pointing begins!  Again, the text states Eve knew not to eat it.

Eve was deceived, I took exception to the statement she was confused.  I agree with you.
