Worldwide Economic Crisis

This is a copy of my post in the Eschatology forum, where I tie the coming economic collapse to End Time prophecy. But the subject stands alone as a news issue, hence this new string.

More and more economists, including those from the mainstream who normally try to paint the rosiest pictures, say that 2016 not only may be calamitous for the world's economy, but also that the calamity may come within months. Just a few examples:

"RBS [Royal Bank of Scotland] has advised clients to brace for a “cataclysmic year” and a global deflationary crisis, warning that major stock markets could fall by a fifth and oil may plummet to $16 a barrel.

"The bank’s credit team said markets are flashing stress alerts akin to the turbulent months before the Lehman crisis in 2008. “Sell everything except high quality bonds. ... In a crowded hall, exit doors are small,” it said in a client note.

Historic First: North Atlantic EMPTY of Cargo Ships in-transit - ALL anchored along coasts; none moving

"Commerce between Europe and North America has literally come to a halt.  For the first time in known history, not one cargo ship is in-transit in the North Atlantic between Europe and North America.  All of them (hundreds) are either anchored offshore or in-port.  NOTHING is moving.

"This has never happened before.  It is a horrific economic sign; proof that commerce is literally stopped."

Interesting, I did read about this coming years ago and it looks this could be the year when it all will happen?

I did read stuff about in the Dutch newspapers too about the banks last week.

We have to make sure to be ready where our priorities ..!

Rebuttal to SNOPES' Coverage of this story

About 7 hours ago, a writer named Dan Evon from the web site "Snopes.com" declared this story to be "false" and later accused this news web site of authoring "fake" stories.  Snopes is wrong on both counts. (Their coverage here)

By their own admission in their report today, Snopes' representations about shipments traveling via sea, is based upon their information for January 12.  Our story was published on January 8 and dealt with ocean-going freight, on January 7 and 8. 

Further, our article dealt solely with the "north Atlantic" not the Pacific or the Mediterranean or any other ocean.  So whatever information Snopes has from the 12th -- and from OTHER OCEANS -- has no bearing whatsoever on whether our story from January 8 was accurate!  We stand-by our story.

Had Dan Evon bothered to telephone us or even send an e-mail, we could have provided him with the necessary information to support the factual basis of our story.  He neither called nor e-mailed.  He simply decided himself that the story was "false" and used the Snopes web site to say so.  Great journalistic integrity and due-diligence there, Dan. /sarcasm

Further, in declaring "Superstation95 has generated several fake news stories,. . ."  Mr. Evon has libeled us.  Libel is civilly actionable. 

Rather than sue them, we'll just point out that the single other story that Snopes refers-to, (there is only one other story they have ever taken issue with, and yet Dan Evon said there were "several") dealt with the attacks in San Bernadino California wherein 14 people were shot to death by self-admitted supporters of the ISIS Terror Group. 

That Snopes report (here) was written by a writer named Kim LaCapria and, like Dan Evon, Kim never called us or even sent an email before declaring our story "False."  Another example of Snopes shoddy workmanship.

In fact, had Kim bothered to reach out to us, we could have put her in touch with an eye-witness, who was actually inside the building where the shootings took place, who personally HEARD the argument about pork being served at the event, and how the soon-to-be-shooter yelled he was "tired of these insults to Islam" before storming out of the event, then coming back to shoot the place up.

Bear in mind that Kim's basis for declaring our story "false" was simply that "no other media outlet had reported this."  Gee, that's some criteria she used!

With political correctness permeating the mass media, it is no secret that the mass media seeks to downplay the relationship to Islam of so much of today's terrorist violence.  But to say our story was "false" because no other media outlet reported it, is a bit of a stretch.

We provide this rebuttal because folks in the past have relied on Snopes to get them the facts.  We hope the two examples of their utterly shoddy reporting, outlined in this update, shows they are hardly reliable anymore.

My husband just learned that he lost $2500 in his retirement fund yesterday, so these articles are well timed.   He's taking the advice of the RBS and moving his investments into bonds.     it is very hard to see how this is going to play out.   They are likening it to 2008.   At the beginning of the year in 2008 my husband's employer gave "the layoff speech"  - the one where they say everything is stable, no one is getting laid off.   He came home, and told me  'I just got the "layoff speech." They had called everyone into a meeting in the local theater to inform them of this.  He realized layoffs were coming in a matter of weeks, and was very concerned he would be one of the ones let go.   We were literally sitting on the bed looking at each other, wondering what we were going to do, when the phone rang with a job offer in Columbia South America.   My husband's job took him around the world training employees of other companies on equipment purchased from the company he worked for.   He would often get job offer on the spot.  This was true of this company as well.  But now here they were calling him.

We looked at each other, talked and prayed about it, saw the hand of God in this, and he took the job, and gave his 2 weeks notice.    In the few days following his last day at work, they laid off a huge number of employees, then another wave hit in a few weeks after that, then those who were left had to go on half time for months and months.  

He's been working in Columbia ever since.

Jesus warned Jerusalem of the coming destruction of Jerusalem, The Lord warned them about the total destruction of the temple. Yet, when the armies surrounded Jerusalem in 70 a.d. instead of running to the hills like Jesus warned and advised them to do, thousands took shelter in the temple and were burned to death. If the angels work franickly to warn people right up to the Great and Terrible Day of The Lord, the angels are not trying to rob people of anything, they are trying to save and so are those who are warning. We will have peace and closeness to God and His Word for all eternity. For now we are called to labor in the fields for a harvest and not stop till we finish this life or the Lord comes for us.

God bless you too.  To those who are given much, much is expected.  You are speaking of prophetic insight that I'm in agreement with you on.  The problem is there are false teachers in the church today, claiming one prophetic insight or another.  Hal Lindsey, a good man, but prophesized as recorded in "The Late Great Planet Earth" and set a date.  The date has come and gone (the book was written in 1970).  Jesus said we are not to know the time and date, but we may tell by the seasons.  With so many different interpretations of Daniel, Matthew and Revelation, as well as other books, it's difficult to know who is right.  Hal Lindsey just comments on world events now, and has left the predictions to others.

My point was that if Christians immerse themselves in the things of this world, they may miss the meat of the God's word.  I don't want to be so caught up in the "rat race" that I miss the gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit.  That's all my comment was meant to convey.

Nice!  Glad to see you and your husband are paying attention, but that is only the first step.

I'd be careful with bonds as well, though.  Lindsey Williams who made friends with some of the elite years ago, was the chaplain in the 1970's when they were constructing the Alaskan oil pipeline, says to get out of paper entirely.  He said the elite told him that everything that is written on paper will only be worth the paper it is written on.  He said the only thing that will save you is gold and silver.  Not gold and silver certificates, but only physical medals that you can touch.  He also said you need to get out of debt, buy a gun, food, water and toiletries for a time of crisis.  When the crash comes, everything written on paper will become worthless, money, stocks, bonds, mortgages, pensions.......  Just a heads up.
