The repenting of specific sins comes through sanctification... the daily cleansing/foot-washing that Jesus

talks about in John 13 where the whole man is already cleaned but the feet which get dirty throughout the day.

I remember doing the same thing, pray for forgiveness knowing I was going to smoke again, it took me a long time to stop but

Jesus set me free and He will set you free too..you love Him and He loves you..

When you decide to be serious and give it a try get some Vit C and Magnesium , the magnesium calms your nerves and the Vit C will flush the nicotine faster out of your body..

Jesus will set you free,....

I have researched in the past years healthy nutrition and ways to cut out sugar intake.

and I found : L-glutamine

It is an amino acid that helps curb sugar cravings and also nicotine cravings, by helping to keep the sugar level balanced so that cravings become greatly diminished.

No one goes to Hell for smoking. Do you acknowledge before God that you are a sinner in need of salvation? Do you believe that Christ died for your personal sins, and rose again for your personal justification?  Will you turn away from all your sins and idols and turn to Him by faith, receiving Him as your only Lord and Savior?  If so, please go and talk to Jesus. The Bible says that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Believe it.

 Smoking itself cannot send you to hell ,but it can hasten your death and that of others around you .

That all depends on how responsible a smoker is. They should never smoke inside a home. They should never smoke inside a building where others are residing. They should respect all the laws that are put before them as a smoker. It is their choice. Coffee is a drug as well and so is alcohol. I know many who drink a pot a day of coffee. Gluttony is also a sin. I guess like Jesus said those who have never sinned throw the first stone.

Tiggs, God loves YOU!  God doesn't love you less by smoking.  If you feel Him leading you to quit smoking, then you can trust Him to help you.  You are covered by the blood of Jesus, you are a child of God, you are forgiven!  As God wants what is best for His children, I believe He would want you to quit, however, His loving you is not dependent on what you do!  Just talk to God about it.

No you're not. Gather all your cigarettes, cigars, or cigarillos, and make an [expensive] bonfire in your backyard. That's what the occultists did with their expensive books on witchcraft and magic. who said smoking would send you to hell....   Of course you can quit smoking and extend your life.     I have a neighbor who was in the same position as you and has been on oxygen for six years.....    His COPD hasn't gotten any worse, but without a lung transplant it won't get any better either.

But I don't think it's a salvation issue at all.   I haven't smoked in 30 years and my oxygen level goes down to 90 or so part time.   I've been using Symbacort for about a year now and yesterday morning first check it was 98.

Listen to your doctor and do something about it.

For the sake of Tigger398, "responsible smoking" is Verboten. The only responsible smoking for him is "zero smoking". Why? Because he is admittedly a slave to cigarettes. That can also be said to those who partake in coffee,alcohol and a overabundance of food. It is easy for many to point their finger when they should pull the plank out of their own eye.
