That's an odd reply.  The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.  All of it belongs to Him and should be submitted to Him.  Just because the overwhelming majority choose not to submit to Him, does not mean they should not.  We as Christians should definitely be governed by the Lord though.  He tells us to go into all the world and preach the gospel AND make disciples.

Again, I digress from the topic concerned :)

I think you know already, Christians are Governed by The Savior, Messiah, JESUS ! in YAHWEH always!

And, of course, for now, subject to being put to death by the world((which is governed by hasatan)), every day.

And vexed every day by the wickedness overflowing, abounding all around, everywhere.

Like Lot in sodom.

In a way like Nineveh, except Nineveh repented and was spared;  the world won't be spared.

True but God builds His kingdom by taking from the world. You and I were once children of this world under the prince of this world. We cannot ever forget that God so loved this world he gave His only  begotten Son so that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but will have eternal life. The world is in darkness But we have been given a light and we are called to show light to those trapped in darkness. the gospel is sent into darkness as a light. No one is worthy to be righteousness before God and be rewarded on their own merit. But the Lord has decreed mercy for those who call on His name till the Lord comes and this world is destroyed. The Lord has also decreed to change us into children born of heavenly seed if we come to Him by faith and yes our God has a name "I Am" for he is Savior, He is creator, He is Healer, He is almighty, He everlasting Father and so much more we could search out his attributes and qualities for all eternity and still not be able to define all He is. So he sent us Yahshua (Savior) so we could know his desire to save.  Jesus told us when we pray "Father" is the name his children can use.

Amen, of course,  just like it is written in Ephesians - even in 'church' we all once were >>

Ephesians 2:3-5English Standard Version (ESV)

3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But[c]God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

Just like in Jesus days on earth, when only those immersed in Him recognized Him as Messiah,

only those the Father revealed this to;  not by man/ not by flesh/ not by religion.

So it is sheer grace anyone is saved.  And once saved, we are under the government of Jesus.  Directed by the Father in heaven.  Rejoicing in Him, living in union with Him, TODAY/ SALVATION/ PEACE/ JOY/ RIGHTEOUSNESS...

And minsters of reconciliation IN JESUS.  Not desiring anyone in the world or in church die still deceived.

Telling the GOOD NEWS OF SALVATION IN JESUS, freedom from sin, from the power of the world and the devil.

This is what I struggle with concerning the death penalty.

God wants all to be saved.

When one is executed, then one has had their chance to be saved ended by other men in the name of justice.

I think it is commendable to want them to have the opportunity to repent until God takes their life, and if we can, as christians do so, we should, for this is eternity we are talking about.

You could say that in paying the price for their sin , murder , they reconcile with God .

But you should not pretend it’s belief in Christ, the Redeemer, that makes you support the death penalty, rather than your own lower instincts.

Who do you think gave the apostle Paul the words to pen in the epistle to the Romans?  What Paul states there regarding the death penalty is what Christ Himself has given. And in case you think that the Lord Jesus Christ will not Himself apply the death penalty, please note very carefully (2 Thess 1:7-10):

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;  When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Ezra, are you suggesting that because God is God and judges the hearts, that this justifies us killing each other in judgment?

There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between "us killing each other" and a judge lawfully sentencing a murderer with a death penalty. Why don't you give that some serious thought.

BTW the One who sanctioned the death penalty originally was God Himself (Lev 24:21).  So if you have an argument, it is really with God. Take it up with Him.

It's still man killing man.  A man condemns a man.  A man pulls a trigger or gives an injection or turns on the gas that kills a man.

The question is this: is it prohibited as murder is prohibited, and no it's not for it's not "murder."

But using God's judgment as justification for the death penalty I think goes to far.

Here is one reason why:

God's judgment is perfect.  No one innocent is condemned to hell.

This is not at all true about our judgment, and many innocent people have been executed.

For this reason alone, I believe the death penalty should be abolished.  And we no longer live in types and shadows, no longer is it an eye for an eye -  it is love thy neighbor as thyself.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
