I think there is no harm in wondering why Jesus did it

to do that one should understand what demons are, where they came from and where they are set to end up.   Since the Bible really isn't an introduction to demonology, one would have to get way way outside the Word to have any real idea.

The future of demons is already decided, and they know it....  they have no hope for a peaceful eternal life...  one would need to understand more about demons work than most of us need to know.

So just speculating I would have to think that since Jesus came to introduce mercy to the world instead of sacrifice and condemnation he would show some mercy to the demonic entities.   Were those entities there for the purpose of showing the power and position of Jesus...   as an object lesson how can we not show mercy to things when our master showed temporary mercy to something so bad.  I would say though that He didn't seem to be too fond of  pig farmers

It seems vindictive ruining someone's livelihood because he/she did not pay heed to the gospel. So very unlike Jesus...

Best not to second guess Christ.

l'm going to go with Ezra's comment here; it IS best not to second guess Jesus.  It's okay to wonder and He will tell us His reasoning down the road a bit, I'm sure.  Let's rest assured that what he did was the right thing because He can't do wrong.

Well,ponder this Brother,,,,,,let's say Jesus did send them early to the abyss,,,,,,,,what would the people have witnessed really?That the man was suddenly Healed,Cured,Normal,right? Okay,but He did take it a step further & demonstrated that not only does He have the Power to cast demons out but that they submit to His Authority as well,,,,,,,,,,,they were terrified & just wanted Jesus to go away,,,,you would think with a demonstration such as that the people would have fell prostrate on the ground & realize ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,My Lord,my GOD

I believe this story speaks volumes about the Works & Wonders Jesus did & they STILL rejected Him         To God be the Glory

He knows that their end is in the Lake of Fire, and perhaps it was His will to destroy that herd of swine having seen what future harm might come from them. Some things are best left without further exploration otherwise they lead to idle questions.

Hi other one;

In Matthew 8: verse 29, we read;

"And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?"

These demons knew Jesus was the Son of God, and they knew they will be punished at their appointed time, that's why they asked Jesus, if He had come to torment them before their appointed time.

You suggested in an earlier post;

Quote

"one should make note that Jesus didn't send them into the heard of pigs; the pigs asked for permission to inter the pigs and Jesus allowed it."

.

In Matthew 8: 30-31,  we read " V. 30, And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

V. 31, So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

The devils or demons did in fact ask to be allowed to go and enter the pigs. and Jesus in Verse 32, answered; "

V. 32, And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

And when they came out of the man, they went into the herd of swine, and in the KJV, it reads;

"the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea,"

We know this much, its revealed in Acts, demons know Jesus and they know their fate by Him; Acts 19:15, "And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?"

I have always kind of feared that when dealing with the dark side......       never ever deal with demons unless you know that the Holy Spirit is telling you to do so.   And if anyone is ever chosen to help someone who is being bothered by them or possessed, as you require them to leave the safest thing to instruct them is to go where Jesus directs them to go.....   don't make that decision yourself.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
