Re, I agree.

All I did was make a comment on Facebook regarding a homosexual "marriage" photo of my homosexual nieces friend.

Her parents were walking the partner down the aisle and everyone could see they were not happy. I said the gal had a nice smile but her folks looked like they were going to a funeral.

BOOM!!! My son curtly emails me from Chicago that I'm no longer the mom he used to know, I'm now homophobic, xenophobic, arrogant, Jesus freak and intolerant blah blah blah.

He disowned me and I said well, I'm to tolerate your opinion but you can't tolerate mine?

Nuff said but my life has less drama in it now, jest sayin....

But there were no rights being infringed upon.  You exercised your rights by posting on Facebook your views and your son exercised his rights with his actions.  Exercising a right does not mean it will be free of consequence.

It's a sad story Karan but it's what the bible said would happen. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

Quote

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Later on in Matthew 10:34-40 Jesus tells us that the peace that the world is ascribing to Jesus is quite different from the one he is actually bringing.

Quote

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Stay encouraged and keep praying for your son.  As long as he has life I believe the Spirit can reach him and show him that your stance on those issues come from your love for the Lord.  Maybe your purpose was to plant the seed and someone else will water it.

Amen sis.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Out of the Shadows.  As wonderful as the govt of the US is there will always be a group who feels their rights are being infringed by someone else's rights.  It's up to the govt to determine whether or not the claim has validity.  It won't be like that in heaven though so keep encouraging people to renounce this world and we can experience that utopia sooner.

Can you explain how your right to live your life as a Christian could infringe on someone's right to be an atheist, or the right to support gay marriage or even be a drunk?

This is an antagonistic statement Out of the Shadows. You know the answer to this very silly question and I am not sure why you are even asking it. But I will stoop to your level so that I can answer this question. My life as a Christian does not infringe on what other people believe. The problem is that the atheist, the LBGTQ groups, etc are trying working to infringe they "rights" on us that do not hold to their ideals. What they want is to see the destruction of fundamentalism and the truth of the word of God so that they can live their lives believing that they are not accountable to a higher power.

Why do they not have a right to the election results?

Because they had their chance to protest at the ballot box. Since the lyin' celebs said that they would leave the USA (which they won't), that should have been the next step for those who could not abide Trump.

As long as they are not breaking the law by looting or burning things they can protest anything they like.

As a matter of fact they are burning the flag as well as other things, and disrupting traffic.

Had Obama been a true President, he would already have made several public announcements that such behavior would not be tolerated while he is in office. This is not "peaceful transition" but rioting in the streets.

In arizona, among the protests and civil disobediences, students from schools are ditching classes and marching on the state capitol with mexican flags. The schools are not discouraging their actions. Two of these schools also had students who intimidated voters to vote against arpaio but were never charged for their illegal actions.

Greetings Jaydog,

This post is coming very close to a personal attack. We would typically thread ban someone for something similar, but as you are a newer member, I will simply ask that you review our terms of service and please debate the subject, not the person.

God bless,

Steve

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
