I am so glad someone has done this.  Lots of people are naming their boys with surnames. We have all sorts, like Henderson Hutchinson, Tyler etc.  I feel so sorry for children with strange names.  They are at a disadvantage from the start.

I remember when the singer Craig David was big - there was a big deal made about his surname being a first name....

I see Justice is on the list - I personally know a Justice.

Yes, I guess at the end of the day it is a bit silly really.  A lot of stuff has no eternal significance.  Actually I know of a couple of children named Justice.  We have a system for errant children called "Juvenile Justice".  Just imagine someone with this name ending up in "Juvy" as they call it.

The word "image" was meant to be "imagine".

I don't understand how the state can dictate what citizens can name their children.  I thought Australia was a democracy.

You're okay with your government banning names???  That is government out of control.  What's next?  Banning certain books or religions?

Could have been closer then you think.

Sorry people.  I probably shouldn't have become involved in this trivia.  Much worse, and of eternal significance, is the fact that the Victorian government is now considering a probable conscience vote on voluntary euthanasia next year. Where is this heading?

In my opinion, not a good one.  Are the Australian people in favor of this?

Looking at the list of names, though, I can appreciate why there would be a ban on them.

The names on the list are not "ridiculous" ones, but represent titles. That could be problematic in certain situations.
