Does this music give you feelings that are uncomfortable, with as a Christian? Bottom line is what the Holy spirit tells you and that you can find searching your conscience.  The thing is that if your sister gets the album, you will still be able to hear such things and if you are fond of some of the music you may be tempted back into desiring it. The Bible speaks of this in  second Timothy 2:22

2 Timothy 2:22  Run from temptations that capture young people. Always do the right thing. Be faithful, loving, and easy to get along with. Worship with people whose hearts are pure.

If I were you and my sister was going to buy this, i would have a long heart to heart with her and If she did not see the danger, I would invest in a good set of headphones to listen to my own music through.

Hi,welcome to Worthy.......I'm confused,If I may ask "Are you a Christian?"  The Seekers Lounge is the Forum reserved for unbelievers, seekers & guests to ask us Faith related questions, here we spread the Gospel & point to Jesus,so I am not sure if you just posted here because you just felt like it or because you are indeed,Seeking Jesus! ?

I don't know why you are having such a dilemma over this music & what your sister is putting on her play list, what does that have to do with you? As Omegaman said,do what you are lead to do.......but first I must ask,do you know Jesus? I see your interest says "The Kingdom of God".....that could lead me to believe you are a Christian but many people say they love God,they pray ,they believe in God & yet, they do not know Jesus & as Jesus says....

As a heavy metal fan, there's a bunch of music that can be just offensive. Most bands just use it for shock value and imagery they think is "cool" or edgy, and aren't actually trying to promote things. But that doesn't mean I'm comfortable with it.

There are more and more Christian metal bands these days, though. Theocracy is my personal favorite, though they're prog metal, unlike Ghost.

If you think "Bible" by Ghost is beautiful, look up "Mirror of Souls" by Theocracy on Youtube. Its 22 and a half minutes long and is one of the most wonderful pieces of music every written, in this Christian metal fan's opinion.

But more generally about your issue, wouldn't it be a better witness to your sister if you did not partake of Ghost, instead listening to something a little better, and hopefully she might hear something from a better band that might influence her? Just a thought.

The headset is for you.  Have you been praying abut yourself? If the music doesn't bother you, then it might be because it doesn't bother you that you feel you need to discuss it with others. The issue is that you need to talk with God about this and you need to be away from this music when you do so. the reason for that is the distraction it might produce in your mind while trying to get your prayers answered. Just don't anticipate what that answer should be or where it might come from.

Hi dood,

This is not a weird question but a good one.  Music per se is not a sin.

There are two issues here that I see.

One is your sister. We should be careful not to expose weaker persons to harmful material.  As you know just by asking, this IS harmful material.

I see it as being very demonic and unhealthy in nature.  Which brings us to you.  I believe that everything our eyes see become a part of us. And hear, of course.

I'll bet you hum their music a lot. I'm not asking if this music glorifies God...We wouldn't listen to anything!  But don't you feel it glorifies satan?

Some of us are more sensitive to others, as I am in this case. But God knows our heart and the Holy Spirit will have to convince you to stop listening to them - not anybody else.

Personally, I tremble at the thought of them.

Fran

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
