70s pop star, David Cassidy, suffered from dementia before his death this week.  This surprised me because I always think of the very old when I think of dementia.  My late mother in law was diagnosed with it in her seventies.  The way the article reads it's becoming more common.  My question: is it because of lifestyle, the environment or simply that more people are living long enough for it to become apparent?  Cassidy abused alcohol and drugs  in his younger years so maybe that can be a contributing factor?  None of us are getting younger; something to think about.

Was it dementia or Alzhiemers  ?

Is there a difference , I don't know for sure .

My mother is 85 and because of a blood clot in her pulmonary system they tell me that there is less and less oxygen getting to her brain , and her connection with

reality has grown greatly worse  over the last year .

I'm sure her symptoms could very well be described as " dementia " .

As such it seems the possibility of underlying conditions causing dementia  would make a long list .

I know they said that Cassidy was suffering from organ failure when admitted to the hospital .

Could be that the slow deterioration of some organ could have been a contributor .

I was sorry to hear it , I knew he had his problems some time ago I was hoping he was doing better  , and maybe he was with that regard , but as it is so often the case chickens can

come home to roost for things we have done  , but have long ago discarded .

Whoa, fine people in all walks of life get dementia syndrome, have fears and alzheimer's disease. Lets not presume one need have  history of abuses to the body by drug use or alcoholism. All one has to do is be the one that is going to get it.

Many of us have deficiency of some kind and it does get worse, if we have the privilege of aging beyond youth.

Yes , sadly one of my great uncles got this,  it robbed him of his life ,  he was one hundred and five and had problems even recognizing relatives.

My grandfather got this too.   he died way younger from it though , I think eighty seven.  My grandma got it too, robbed her at ninety three , mothers side.

My grandma on my dads side it missed her . she was active her whole life , drove her self , and then just peaecefully died.  but she always worried

due to her sister had it .    its a robber , her sister died so young at ninety four .   But no need to fear it .

This runs all over both sides of the family.  but as neighbor said ............no need to fear .   GOD will keep my mind stayed on Him. THAT and I don't think

we got nearly the years left for me to be hitting NINETY or a HUNDRED anything .   this world Is showing major signs of the end days.

I tend to  lean toward dementia and Alzeimer's being more common because people are just living longer.  But, as the article says, there ARE ways to lessen the odds of developing these horrible diseases.  No one in my family tree ever had it, that I'm aware of, but I'm not even sure there is a genetic link anyway.

I could point to the Manufacturer's instructions regarding diet and health, but most Christians just claim 'nah! Because Jesus died for me I can eat anything. I don't believe those Old Covenant rules apply to Christians. You're just a legalist.'

1) It was early stages of dementia, which is undiagnosed in many people until its further along.

2) And this one is important to understanding his dementia, he had a strong family history of dementia.

3) There are many causes for dementia. Some are even reversible (a vitamin b deficiency can cause a form of dementia for instance).

You might very well be right about it not being a genetic link.   i think their is more to this .    I do.   I do believe it has to do with our diet most of all.

God made us , but what we do with our temples is on us .    I truly know i can eat all things .   but i know gluttony or some foods even contain toxins.

truly its like if we ate Biblically i really believe its better for us.   but i also KNOW we can pray over anything and give thanks to GOD and its not evil to do so.

I believe , but i have no proof ,  that sugar and glucose levels might play a role in some.   We were never meant to eat so much sugar.  and

i truly believe the EXCESS of anything is not good for our temple .   over time abuse on the temple by foods can cause problems.

if excess sugar levels harm organs , then it seems to reason it can damage the organ called brain.   I notice after eating the WRONG sugars

it makes me tired , maybe a quick burst of energy , but it don't last and i am twice as tired as before i even ate the wrong sugar.

Where does that feeling come from.   THE BRAIN.   i think sugar excess over time harms the brain or can harm it .  along with other things.

Well its all over both sides of my family line .   had one great uncle that at the age of one hundred and five could not even recognize his relatives anymore .

grandma died young due to it , at ninety four , it stole the last five or six years of that life .

my poor grandfather was robbed by it and died at a super young age of eighty seven. though his did not seem the normal case.

my grandams sister on my dads side...............was the one who died at ninety four  and my grandma she was always so afraid she would get it.

never did, infact that lady was so sharp they sent her to Lubbock and places to see and ponder why her mind was so sharp.   the lady had a memory like a tank

and her speech and reasoning and learning never seemed to slow.  But yeah its all over thefamly.   robbing so many of long life .  I mean eighty seven is youngster land

next to MOSES.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
