Imagine, for a moment, one faith and one family. Imagine living in unison with everyone without the hassle of trying to get along. Pope Francis embraces these imaginings and speaks about them often. Many agree with him. He wants to remove barriers of division from among all faiths. This new dream for unity would allow believers, regardless of faith and tradition and nation, to join as soul mates vowing to build one global community sharing one faith.

These are inspiring words from the Pope, and an increasing number of believers feel the tug to unite in singleness of one faith and one fellowship. It would feel so right and so now, a desirable change from the way things are today. As proof of the tug, evangelicals are hearing the call to come home. Last December Kenneth Copeland and other evangelicals (who share the Pope's vision) were so moved by the Pope's appeal they promised to join him in "prayer and spirit" to unite as brothers in Christ

Whom supposes they are mechanical? I know of nothing mechanically built by man that can handle much more than 10 G's. These things defy every law of physics we can observe. 

But to postulate and guess on your question and my very limited understanding of it all. Could it be; (1) That they are only being manifested visibly and are still operating in another dimension, thereby not subject to our laws of physics? (2) Could the perceived space ships actually be living creatures, as described in detail in Ezekiel? Could they be some sort of holographic projection image?

The whole world is clamoring today for life on other planets .

Every space mission is framed completely in the context of seeking alien life . 

Anyone who says the main force driving the interplanetary search is anything but the  seeking of alien life is either kidding themselves or is just not very bright  .

So what is the  main motivation for spending trillions of dollars over decades to find life in outer space ?

You must be honest in answering this question . 

What is at the heart of NASA  spending trillions upon trillions to find life elsewhere in the universe ? 

 At the heart of it is our weakness , pride , sin . 

The overwhelming pride filled desire of the world to claim that we did not come from God .

The quest for life is rooted in our desire to prove God is wrong . 

To prove God either does not exist or if He does  cannot be trusted :

                                                       " Yea , hath God said ...."   ( Genesis 3 : 1 ) 

Satan's favorite playground . 

Why would he not exploit such a world wide treasure trove of human pride & weakness ?

Man is obsessed with vehicles.  The horse.  The cart.  The carriage.  The automobile, (my personal favorite).  The ship.  The plane.  The rocket.  A progressive and logical progression of design history which demands, in the human mind, The Next Step.  That demands travel outside of our Solar System which SF writers have been postulating since the 30's.  What better way for Satan to confuse and distract people than by focusing the world on UFO's?

These craft are both constructed and piloted by fallen angels  and their end goal is to hoodwink the secular world into believing that mass alien abductions are the explanation for the Rapture.

I don't know about these days, I stopped talking to them back in 1976.   Back then they seemed to be teaching us how to do things just like they did before the flood.....        God pretty much got me away from dealing with them at all just before 1980 so I lost track of their progression.      It's kind of odd that we floated along with horses and buggies for a couple or three thousand years then went from steam engines to flying to the moon in 150 years....   Somehow I just don't see God approving of what we are making of ourselves....    again.....
