So in doing my usual browsing and snippets of ytube and others and even here on Worthy, I often hear the phrase "God told me ".

My question is, in what form  you have heard from God.  Audible [plain words spoken], appearance or whatever form.    Please explain in detail if you can.

God told me that those who say such things should be ignored.......I believe Him.

The Bible reveals to us everything we need to know and that is how God “tells” us anything He wants us to know.

God also told you this.  ;)

Acts 2:16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
    and your young men shall see visions,
    and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servants and female servants
    in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

I hear you Gary.

But you know the audience to whom I am asking this question.   Some say that they get revelations and I want to know in what form, as I have not have heard any like God actually speaking to me in words.

God told me in my previous post to inject a little humor.....yuk....yuk....

If somebody “ prophesies”, That can be determined......for somebody to say “ God told me” every five minutes   Is just being a Spiritual show- off.To them I say “pfftt”......lol

I am curious too.

Some of them say that they hear the audible voice of God and they are wrong.

Some others mean it softly I think.

Anyway, I think it' s a wrong and abused way to express ourselves.

God can make us understand things through His Word, our siblings quoting and living His Word and the application of His Word to circumstances of life, but usually people who say "God told me" think that God communicate with them through their emotions or whatever voice in their head.

So I would avoid using that expression and beware of it.

Well, a lot of people have the belief that we are in the last days and as Wignut pointed to Acts 2:16, many see this as people who say they got dreams about this and that and the public are taking those things seriously.  So if people are saying these things which are false and leading many astray, then this is a serious matter.   As I said, there are people here who say these things to, that God told them to write something or to warn about something ect.

I just want to hear from people who have said they heard from God, in what manner they did and in all seriousness.

I have had and still go through things in the spiritual realm and they are true. If I give some insights here, I may not be believed and that's fine as I cannot lie to myself and God and that would be on my testimony on that day.

So, if people are saying that they have heard from God, I just want to know in what manner they have heard, not what was said really.  That would be between them and their maker when the truth of their testimony is judged on that day.  Belief or not is not the issue, is what manner they have received their messages.

I have similar conclusion too. I know ytube is what it is, but we do get a bit of exposure of what people are thinking and a way for lets say believers to  express themselves and what goes on in their lives.  In the church, you hear of testimony of people saying God told them about what going to happen and to tell others ect.  Some actuall say they have had visitations by Jesus ect.   I guess, I want to hear testimony of this here on worthy, who have had these experiences.

Blessings, if you would allow me to be so bold;

Scripture does tell us how we are to hear and be led by God.

Scripture says;

Colossians 3:15 (NASB)
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.

“let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts”

That word “rule” can also be translated “arbitrate”.

So it can be translated;

let the “peace of Christ arbitrate in you hearts”.

Meaning,  that if something upsets the peace of Christ in your heart,  do something different. Doesn’t matter what it is, if it upsets the peace of Christ in your heart and you still do it, you are not walking in all the light that has been given you. For He has given His peace as an arbitrator.

This is for all His children.

Much love in Christ, Not me

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
