I am making this topic because i'm curious how others feel about the process for not only looking for a job, but obtaining one.

It seems as though it is not so much who is most willing or in need of work, but rather, who can lie and lick the employer's shoes best.

Do you or have you ever lied on your application or during the interview? Do you think a person should be honest, even if their work history is not perfect, or they hit that catch 22 obstacle of "no previous experience"? Do you or have you tried to make yourself appeal more to them, like saying that your worst quality is that you work too hard? Is that not deceitful? How can a person who's work history is lacking and who wishes to be honest obtain a job?

You don't have to answer those questions specifically; I am only curious as to what thoughts you might all have on the matter.

It's best to be honest, but also keep in mind what you're capable of. You don't have to like holding it in when a completely unreasonable customer yells at you. You just have to be able to do it. So far as no previous experience goes, there's volunteer work and internships. This isn't applicable to all career paths but there are a lot of things in day to day life that help prepare us for a work environment.

Personally I've always relied on my Heavenly Father to provide me with work, through prayer for the 33 years since I became one of His children, and looking back, ...unknowingly for 15 years before that through His Providential care for me.

Lord bless

The best of our ability is filthy rags and vanity.

Psalm 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Paul struggled with nothing, Saul struggled with everything, what does born again mean if it is at all of the example of what man is?

Nobody helps GOd out, GOd helps man out, that is grace, that is success, you can keep picking on excuse words that are included on purpose for a crooked world of man, but does nobody have sense to see that to have many on the wide path to destruction, some excuses had to be left in the word so they wrongly can say this is their wide way that they claim is a narrow way..

2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Being taught personally by Christ, is not the same as a man telling us the way everything is, so no need for any man to teach us as told by GOD, to end seducers attempts which thy do constantly now in the days of temptation

Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

1 John 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

There is no personal relationship, never was scriptural,, it is modern and completely invented by this evil generation, as God is a consuming fire.

I wish you well in your fellowship you have with Christ. May He enlarge Himself in you, beyond all measure.

Blessings,

Much love in Christ, Not me

I think we have well according to what we think know and speak of the Lord, as out of our heart the mouth speaks..

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Jude 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

I have never lied on a job application.   I think it is more about qualifications than anything.

Today I don't think it is what you know but who you know. I have known people who definitely were not qualified for the job but got in with the boss and was hired. I think it is important to be honest. If your lie is found out you will be in trouble. That also shows the character of the person. Do you want a liar working for you?

It is advisable to make a resume to highlight your qualifications, experiance and ethics that would make you an asset for that company, doing the job you are applying for. But, I wouldn't advise lieing. It won't take a manager long to figure out your not what they are looking for and alot of jobs have a probation period.

First job hunters should try to have an idea what they think they would be good at and apply for jobs they think are a fit for their strengths and skills. A step up job would be good in that situation. Example: if you want a bank teller job and then move  to being a loan officer. they usually want you to have a couple years till experiance handling money. So you look for a job where you handle money, if you want to be a loan officer eventually, look for a job handling money at a pawn shop, car dealer, or other place that have cash operation but also does loans.

Most people make the mistake of using the I need x amount a week and just find a job that pays that and then try to deceive to get that job. Not a good idea.

They forget our country supports entrpuneership and if a 10 year old can raise $20,000 selling hot chocolate over Christmas holiday, they can find creative ways to supplement their income while they walk the path of their finacial goals. Cleaning houses, offices, doing yard work, caring for an elderly person, house sitting, painting, cleaning yards or pools, trimming trees, washing cars, selling a craft or acquiring low price items at yard sells cleaning them up and selling them for more on eBay or Facebook groups.

Also bible says God gives us favor with those in authority so we pray and seek a path for provision knowing God provides. Don't think God will help out to much if your being deceptive to get what you want now.

Best place I found to start is the need for work.

Hunger, shelter.

As a teen I loved to work. It was rewarding.

I recall at about age 9 my father refusing to give me a couple cents to buy some gum.

"we can't afford it, son." he said.

I had just seen his check and was amazed.

It was 1970 and he just got paid $100.00 as a high school teacher for the week.

10k annual salary with a wife, 4 kids, a mortgage, and a car payment.

He showed me when we got home how the budget worked and then I became amazed

by how he could make ends meet at all.

"Out in the garage is the lawn mower. First tank of gas is on me. Take it down the neighborhood

to see if you can find someone who'll hire you to cut their grass. Do a very good job. I'll know if you

don't.  And I'll tan your hide if you don't. And you'll have your own money."

Been working ever since.

There were times when I gave my mother money for baby formula for my youngest brother after Dad

passed away in 1972. She cried about having to take the money and vowed to give it back when she could but

I told her I wouldn't accept it.

Family comes first.

I would rather die than not provide for my family.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
