You don't have to hope. We all at one time or another battle spiritual security. Here are some great verses below that we can count on God's promises rather than our own doubts.

• John 10:27-29, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."
• John 6:30, "And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day."
• Ephesians 1:13-14, "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”

Ehhh, sounds cute, but God wants us all to be saved. 

1Ti 2:3  This is good, and pleases God our Savior,

1Ti 2:4  who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Tit 2:11  For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

I do believe God is the initiator, but man must believe once he has been shown the truth. I believe free will is taught in scripture.

In my case I concluded that God found me. I was looking for Him but He came me. It was 40 yrs ago & I was so dumb I didn't know there were modern translations of the Bible. One fateful night a stranger handed me a small book which was the gospel of John in the NIV. That started me onto where I am now. Praise God.
