The devil attacks me through thoughts of despair.  Been going through that all summer and also right now.

Hi

I am new to using forums, but was hoping to find a place I could share thoughts and feelings with other Christians.  I am a little nervous about making this first post because I see so much criticism and downright cruelty in the interactions between people on some of the other posts I read here.

I have decided to go ahead and take the risk and ask a question.

Though I have my own thoughts in this area, having been a Christian for a long time, I would like to get feedback from other people.

What do you think is the primary way the devil attacks Christians?

With methodical, deliberate cunning, and often with the aid of other Christians.

Think about it...

Who was the Lord Jesus most threatened by?

Romans?

Or his own people?

The Romans drove the nails

but the Compromised Jewish leadership

drove the Romans.

And the Devil drove the Compromised Jewish leadership

(John 8:44)

Temptation, Lies, deception and oppression. Some are fake promises, temptations to make us sin, oppress us into certain situations. These are some of the ways

I don't feel like there is a primary attack method. Different things work better against different people so it's often the weakest points of a given person that are attacked. But I think in a general sense  getting people complacent with sin is a common form.

This is just a personal view but, I think there is a primary attack method myself, a persons or churches weakness(s) and vulnerabilities along with lies and deceptions. No one knows when Satan fell, but he's been Satan at least before sin entered the world, as Satan (not Lucifer) was in the Garden.

By counting biblical generations an approximate date (Usher 4004 B.C.) of creation can be guessed at. Satan is not omnipresent / omniscience and can not be at more than one place at a time, he assigns his minions. If Usher (and others) are close or correct, and humanity is about 6,000 years old. Think of how much knowledge and wisdom would be gained over 6,000 years. In addition, we can't see into the spiritual realm and we fight not with flesh and blood, but with powers and principalities in high places. The angel's in heaven are innumerable and 1/3 of them by free will decided to follow Satan.

Personally, I highly suspect we are being constantly monitored by satanic forces that are observing our strengths and weaknesses, and our weaknesses are being probed and acted upon. I don't believe the demonic realm can read our minds, but observation is all it takes to determine weakness and our vulnerabilities. Just my thoughts...

What a question. Personally I figure that the Devil is a little too wary to have one primary way ans if I attempt to list all the various ways by my estimate it would take at least 214,753 pages if I could list 2240 per page. The devil has more than 10M ways to attack but there's only one truth and one narrow way that leads to salvation.

He attacks any way he can.  We must all watch and pray and pray specifically not to fall into temptation (The Lord's prayer).  (God does promise a way of  escape from temptation and not to let us be tempted beyond what we are able.
