how does it degrade women? or men as in Bachelorette's case

It pits women against each other and reduces them to their looks and their ability to impress someone.

I think every woman is unique and God chooses our mates for us. A woman shouldn’t  have to compete with twenty other  women, or however many there are, for a man’s attention. Not to mention the going out  on a date with a guy you like and then knowing he’ll be with another girl the next day and then yet another one the next night. And doing what with all of them?

I would not reply because I don't have a television and I think the show is very worldly.

Good points!

Maybe we ( men) should be rutting  and combating each other head first on a dead run like elk eh? Winner take all.

No I guess not. Winning might then be worse to win than losing,- perhaps. Likely a disappointment all around.

But it is rather natural for the young to burn with passion is it not? Better that they marry than to burn.

Kind of nice for young men as well as young ladies to do so with some decorum and respect one for another and to God especially.

I suspect decorum and respect for one another, and  especially to God might be low priority on  "reality" shows if they are based upon titillation and display of flesh.

ps- BUT maybe there is something to be learned by watching?

there are several couples made on the shows actually got married and is currently happily married.

in Trista and Ryan's case, they have been married for 16 years.

Why would a woman want to marry a man who wanted to take 24 other women for a "test drive" before he settled on her?  The show is demeaning to me.  Same with it's counterpart.  Both men and women are displayed in worldly manners.  Cheap and definitely not uplifting.

Guess I'm just an old coot.
I still strive to avoid what would cause me to holler cuss words, or heavy objects, at the TV.
I get upset seeing air time taken up for the $. So dumb.
I would rather watch another season of reruns with Archie and the meathead..........

(Hope I'm not out of line, but was amazed with this topic was on Worthy.)
There is so much "screen time" today, TV - cell -  PC,  there is no time left for
face to face time. Getting really desperate out there! Just Pull the plug.

I had sooner drink a gallon of turpentine and wee on a brush fire than watch that stuff .     Its all dead to me .    The only thing worthy of  anything and that holds any flavor is the bible and anything that pertains to holiness .

I HATE reality tv.

1. Its clearly faked -multiple stories come out about how lots of situations are faked or set up to "lead " along the plots but then made to  make people think its realistic.

2. society. Once, to get on tv, actors would have  talent and to  work for years to get a job. Now, any and everyone can get a  show- has been actors, people doing things they shouldnt.  Some are just embarassing. I cant believe the ads ive seen for shows- Preacher's Daughters,  Real Preachers of L.A???? Real Sidechicks of Charlotte. All my Baby Mommas.

3.It creates an "attention whore" mentality.People then do any and everything to get a spot on tv. My cousin loves them and at her house  I overheard/saw plenty scenes where people behaved crass, loud and embarrassing. I even saw a scene on acebook where a man  was a dog breeder and his wie had a new baby . os they were filming introducing the new baby to their pet. a MASSIVE pit bull. They literally put the baby down next to the dog and filmed it. One bite and that baby would been killed . even one lick as dogs are prone to do and it couldve given him an infection. But... we wanna get on tv so.....

Can't say I hate it, but I don't "get it" for sure. There is less on tv today with cable and 24/7  presentations than there was back when there were but two  Networks  ( In the USA ) and they were only on the air after 6:15 PM PM until 11:PM

Why the local "Farm Report at 5 AM"  weekdays had more content than  most any reality  program of today.

I am struggling with myself to cut cable altogether. It is time to do it, for I am too often just inviting Satan's minions into my home by having it.  I have been hedging my bet so to speak by not having  any at  our mountain place of retreat. I do believe I do much better when  there than I do  at the city where I still have cable, which is  a time stealer and a mind musher.

Ha, I just remembered the prophecy of Edward R. Murrow. He testified that TV would become the opiate of the masses. At the time I didn't really know of the word opiate, and I thought masses were for Roman Catholics. Turns out he was really paraphrasing Karl Marx on religion. Morrow was saying tv would become our religion. And the way to dumb us down into a passive compliant "mass" to be easily ruled over.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
