I think it is foolish for christians to NOT be politically involved, at least to a certain extent. Im not saying they all need to get up and run for office or be politically active, but I think they should all be aware of whats going on, and vote at the very least...and make educated votes. Even the Apostle Paul was politically active, Jesus even was aware of the politics of the time and used them to his advantage.

I think that we have a civic responsibility the same as any citizen of the nations we live in. The context changes depending on many things, but I have taken my cue from what Timothy says. I try to vote in such a way that best maintains the freedoms that allow us unfettered speaking of the Truth.

I also desire my children and grand children to live in a peaceful environment.

For me--it is just that simple.

1Tim. 2:1   First of all, then, I urge that aentreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 afor kings and all who are in 1authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and 2dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of aGod our Savior, 4 awho desires all men to be bsaved and to ccome to the 1knowledge of the truth.

Who are you calling foolish, @The_Patriot2019? Are you in a position to execute that judgment regarding other servants of the Lord? The words of Jesus Christ come to my mind:

"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell." (Matthew 5:22)

Be careful of whom you label as foolish. It's a careless thing to do and perfectly illustrates how the cares of this world divide the brethren instead of uniting them. You may keep this perishing world of men and reap your reward from it but as for me, I want nothing to do with evil men and their evil schemes.

no one, specifically. It was not meant as a insult to anyone in general, just that I think it is foolish to at least not be aware of the politics of the day. Like I pointed out even Jesus and His disciples at least knew of the local politics-the apostle Paul was to, and often used them to his advantage to witness to others.

again, you all are mistaking my intent. it wasnt to call anyone foolish or fools, just that I think that the action of burying ones head in the sand is foolish. I mean weve all done foolish things. It was not meant, in any way, shape or form, to be an insult or an attack.

Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's... (Jesus' own words).

Honor those appointed to rule over you... the Apostle Paul

these are civil / civic commands.

In a democratic republic it is our Christian duty to be civic / civil

i.e. political.

The founding fathers of America knew this even though the thought of

having anything to do with anything as dirty as politics unsettled them.

George Washington shied away from the Presidency but answered the call of

duty.

I believe going off half-cocked  (having only partial information) or going along with the

crowd (as the people did who cried "Crucify him!") is a major part of the problem with politics

because it is the vital tool of satan. Human ignorance, human herd mentality, human stubbornness / pride).

Do the research. Do not fall for subterfuge from either or any side.

Test everything by scripture under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit.

Be sure you are right, then go ahead... Abraham Lincoln

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
