I didn't need to read the whole lot, as soon as you said NIV, that was enough. The most popular, but the worst translation, as it came from the Westcott & Hort text, who were not believers. Yet even the best English translation, the KJV has errors, but at least it comes from the Textus Receptus, which is the correct one.

I prefer the NASB and NKJV. Although the NASB derives from NA, it includes the missing verses in brackets rather than in the margin. It also correctly translates to Sheol rather than hell as does the KJV(s) in the OT.

I like to compare the two and often the YLT and older translations such as Darby, Geneva, Douay-Rheims and Bishops.

Regarding the TR---older texts does not necessarily equate to better.

In the final analysis, we have the 'Paraclete' and Jesus promise to us. This of course, is the reason why it is vital for all of us to understand and have a 'personal' two way relationship with our Lord. Where comes Truth?

Thanks, I didn't know that, I just heard he was going to eliminate it, ...I don't keep up with what's going on in the States, ...watching Father's Hand working in Israel is much more fascinating, ...Israel economy is growing so fast, ...number one country in the world in computer technology, ...I would so love to go and visit Israel, ...some day in the future I'll be their with my Lord.

Are you aware of the number of Bible translations and versions that have popped up since the 19th century? How many translations were around prior to the 19th century?

The Lord promised to preserve His word, in which translation(s)? Looking through the numerous Bible translations in the first few pages, how many have this symbol © ? To obtain this copyright, the work must be at least 15% different from other intellectual property [15% + 15% + 15% + 15% =, you get the idea]. What's the best selling book of all time to profit on [a cash cow]? Is there anything wrong with having a restriction on God's word? 

Just my personal thoughts, others mileage will vary.

To include water desalination, irrigation, technology, the best global vegetable and fruits in the world, the U.S. sends them a fighter jet, and they make it better. There escalating financial prosperity, production and discovery of the Goliath natural gas and oil fields and building a pipeline to export their new found wealth, on and on...

It would almost make one think they have a spoil worth invading and taking?
