Ladypeartree gave you some sound words of wisdom and read them over a  few times.  Fear, you must come to terms is from the enemy, satan and his hordes of minions that come to plant worries and anxieties about what if and tomorrow.  You have to come to terms with your mortality and your assurance of where you are going to spend eternity, when you have overcome that hurdle, then what is to fear.

Fear, is a human condition that we all have, but God has given us the tools and  assurance that he will never leave us nor forsake us.  This is where you have to develop your ultimate trust in him.  It is in the time of trials and troubles that most often the opportunity lies to exercise your FAITH on whom you believe is able to comfort your SOUL.

You have to leave your burdens at the feet of Jesus Christ. Start the practice today and what's taking place in the world, will run its course, you have no control over that. You can build up your brothers and sisters and encourage them to persevere in this trying times for all mankind.

Matthew 10 King James Version (KJV)

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

1 Peter 5 King James Version (KJV)

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

I am lowered in mind, body and spirit as never before by this coronavirus situation. Life as we knew it, peace and normality has disappeared.

The stress is going to kill me. I cannot relax or sleep. News of so many deaths, so much suffering. The catastrophic economic effects have yet to be felt. I dread that.

I am in real trouble. I pray day to day. I have begun to switch off my phone and not listen to the news.

Please point me to Bible passages and prayers where i can find comfort. Also what can i do each day to find relief? So far none of my family or friends have got the virus. I need to prepare for that. As it is i feel paralysed.

Having said all this, i depend more than ever on Jesus Christ our Lord. I pray lots and i am granted strength to get through each day and take care of myself, husband and home. Nobody would know how much i am struggling with pure fear and the loneliness of missing seeing my friends and my parents. I hate the way we are separated. I am not strong, i need help.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.

I hope these words help,

The concept that someone has everything in order and that they are completely in charge of every situation is a misnomer for no one truly controls this day or tomorrow. We can prepare and make ready but only the Lord God knows what lies ahead. We live in the present and that is all. Our past has great impact upon our present and our future, but the present is all that we have. We plan our days, weeks, months, and years but any plan beyond the moment is still a plan and not yet reality. Some people seek to control every aspect of their lives and seek to master every situation but this is a supposition not based upon reality. Some appear to be in control while others appear to be completely frustrated and seem to struggle with many aspects of day to day life and go through life overwhelmed by the immensity of it all. The overwhelmed when encountering those who appear to be in complete control are either impressed or irritated. Life has innate struggles, for life cannot be completely planned and controlled by our desires and actions. Life contains many unknowns and many unforeseen circumstances, so do not be discouraged if one of these unknown and unforeseen things causes you to initially struggle or seem uncertain. I know not what today or tomorrow may bring, but I know the One who holds all my days in his loving hands, so in trust and surrender I will face the challenges of a new day, and I may conquer all with ease or I may struggle for a while, but the Lord that guides me truly guides me, and will see me through all my days.

Sister, I pray you and all of us will take heart knowing that the Lord is working in the midst of this.  For one thing the land is enjoying a sabbath rest...........from pollution and from sin and crime.  I find that wonderful.....a little bug so small it can't be seen with the naked eye and yet this whole world and so much of it's evil has had to come to a grinding halt, at least for now....how mighty is our God!  :)  And more importantly people in a frantic and driven world are being humbled and given time to slow down and reflect.  It's an opportunity for us to be STILL and know that He is God....our response as believers can be to humble ourselves and truthfully accept this as being from GODS's mighty hand, because He is ruling and reigning and has gone before us in all things, no matter what is happening.

Turning off the news is a good idea since it's a steady stream of facts and no Truth....I stopped watching it too....was finding it soul-sucking....it does not impart life....it's like sawdust to the soul rather than bread of life.  But we can rest in the Lord in the midst of the storm (like Jesus sleeping on the boat through the gale) by surrendering to His will and reminding ourselves of His truth and promises, and remember Him saying we have authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and nothing will by any means hurt us.

Luk 10:19-20

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

This is a suffering, no doubt about it, more of our flesh nature is dying out, and we do have need of patience/perseverence in the midst of this constriction and to wait for Him......and I hope you and all of us will take comfort in all the words of scripture having to do with suffering and how the Lord uses it for our good.  I think really this is all we need to get hold of,  that God IS in control of this, that He is very much at the helm of His ship, and working out His will, and I like this verse for these times as well:

1Th 5:18

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Fear is a normal part of life it is what you DO with that fear that counts. Give it to the Lord and concentrate not on what you cant do but on what you can do .

This event has hit you hard, and you have my sympathy. I agree with the above statement even though for some it may be easier said than done. This crisis came upon everybody around the globe unexpectedly and without warning. And what has happened currently is a sudden shock. Even one death is one to many and upsetting to all, but so is knowing that there are others that are extremely ill from it. Plus the uncertainty of whether folks will still have a job tomorrow. We aren't promised a life free from trouble, but we are promised that Jesus will always be right beside each one of us always until the end of time.

Take comfort in realizing that Jesus is still beside you in spite of it all.  He has NOT left you. I pray that He will shower upon you and your loved ones His comfort and peace of mind and the reassurance that this will soon pass.

Shalom @Melinda12

Fear not.  This is a test for you as much as it is for the world.

Trust in Him and His goodness.  Be bold and confident in our Refuge and Fortress, to be a light of example to others, not buckling under fear.  This is a time when people, without God, may be looking at you to see how you deal with this.  Their hearts may be failing them but yours should not be.  We have a great hope and strong rock of deliverance!  This is a time when your faith in His Word is tested, so trust.

A time much worse than this is to come.  So, if this is a struggle for you, take the opportunity to refine your faith now, before the harder latter days come.

You have to prepare your heart to trust in Him and His faithfulness, regardless of the "facts" you are being told by the mainstream news (which have their counterpart, revealing this virus isn't all it's made out to be).  Don't believe all you hear from men in suits and white labcoats.  Just because it's on CNN or Fox doesn't equal fact.  Are you so easily shaken with numbers?  There is a clandestine plot at play from the elite rulers of the world at the moment, and the fear they are spreading as "fact" is a huge part of it.

Read and mediate on Psalm 91.  Read it on a daily basis until you have digested it fully and it should provide you with peace.

Love & Shalom

For some of us fear is the suffering that the Lord is using to refine us......and then as we gain experience of His faithfulness in the midst of that, it is how He teaches us to trust Him and rest in Him more.  I find that testing and trial with the Lord is not a pass or fail kind of thing, it's a matter of finding out what our need is and the Lord being faithful to us in that need as we turn to Him for what we have need of, because we have nothing of our own.  He does not upbraid us at all when we come to Him for what we need and realize that we lack on our own.  That is the whole point of how He works in the lives of His children....to come to the end of ourselves and so receive from the Lord what we come to realize we dont' have of our own. :)  That's why it always very humbling, how He works upon our life and heart.

That is a good Start. The Media is hyping fear, and fear produces anxiety. Turn them off for a day and read Psalms, start with Psalm 46, Sing Some of the Old Hymns And Start looking Up for our redemption is nigh. Read also Acts chapters 4-5 and how the apostles responded to adversity, with Joy and rejoicing. All of this that is happening is a blessing and not a curse, if it causes you to focus on Christ Jesus and not the things of this world. Don't look back, Look up at Christ, he is the solution to our anxiety.

Absolutely. Thankyou. I have noted the Bible sections. My Bible, my garden and quiet are the ways to calm myself.

I have been waking at night short of breath, purely anxiety. I feel i ought to be stronger but i am not. I felt i must say truthfully here how very scared i am.

Any chance some of that might be intercessory in nature?  Especially if it seems inexplicable to you otherwise.  Sometimes we may feel or experience what others are feeling because of a position of standing in the gap, and in this way we are helping others to carry their burden, acting as a sort of lightning rod.   The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Having said all this, i depend more than ever on Jesus Christ our Lord.

Beloved sister, ...may I humbly ask in brotherly love, ...do you believe God's promise in John 3:16?

Now go to your Bible and turn to Psalm 91...

What does God promise us...

You shall not fear the terror by night; nor because of the arrow that flies by day; nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness, of the destruction laying waste at noonday.  Psa 91:5-6

The only "qualifier" for this promise is to "believe" you are already in...

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, my refuge and my fortress; my God; in Him I will trust. Psa 91:1-2

Precious, you are "in" Christ, ...that is "the" Truth, ...Jesus said it and promised you, ...all that is left is for you to appropriate this promise into your heart too.

If you are interested I can give you an online church that you can connect and fellowship with on Zoom there in England.

The LORD bless you, and keep you: The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you: The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Your brother in Christ,

Gene

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
