Hebrews 13:2

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Num 12:1  Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

Num 12:9  So the anger of the LORD was aroused against them, and He departed.

Num 12:10  And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam became leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper.

God was so angered by Moses' sister Miriam scorning his wife who was  a black woman from Ethiopia, that He allowed Miriam to turn white from lepersy for a week.    It would seem that God  frowns on such abuse.  Some people think that this referred to wife Zipporrah but when Moses was ruling in Egypt he had conquered Ethiopia.  It was their custom to marry into the royalty of the conquered nation to seal the alliance.  This may be the Ethiopian woman they spoke of.  However the  custom was wide spread because even the Native Americans practiced this.

Not all shootings of black people are racially motivated.  Unfortunately, some are.

Are you talking about the incident in Minneapolis, MN?   I think you are.

It was a horrible thing for the police officer to kneel on that man's neck for several minutes....while the man kept saying he couldn't breathe.   Then the poor man died!

The four officers involved were fired.   We shall see if they will be charged with murder as they should have done something to stop the other officer.

While I think it's horrible what happened, two wrongs don't make a right.   That is, I don't agree with the rioting, looting and burning down the police station.

Check you theology roots.

Much racism stems from the church. Slavery etc.

If you dare to read history, you will see how evil has done this twisting.

Few realise that Abram was probably black.

Who are you speaking to??? I made a post referencing the Catholic Church as part of the problem.

I see that much of church history is tied up with the seeds of discrimination. The RCC, the reformed leaders and most dogma after 100-250 AD has been 'massaged' to allow all kinds of unjust horror. Even the so-called reformers were steeped in the  wrong Latin Vulgate translations and Jerome, Luther and of course Augustine were joined by some of the 'church fathers' in this kind of thing.

Our days may be numbered, but while we have time there is a wealth of scholarship to find out really who what and where these things all came from. Very few I have met know anything about church history and WHY they do what they do. The seminaries are thus infected, so few even know about the causes of these travesties. They see the effects and jump up and down, but the cause might be in the very pew they were sitting in.

Excessive force is such a fine line and gray area these days in law enforcement. From what I understand, the man was very combative and uncooperative and needed to be subdued. The knee to the back of the neck is a common way to subdue the unruly until handcuffed [on 'P.D. Live' every Friday & Saturday anyway]. Many in that position always verbalize they can't breath, and law enforcement response sometimes is, "you're talking ain't you"? Not many decades ago, this kind of treatment would have been considered treating someone combative with 'kid gloves'.

The entire Bible is chockful of examples of racism and continues to this day. It's derived from our sin nature and heart without Jesus. It seems reasonable to keep someone on the ground and restrained for everyone's safety until the fight is out of them. Did the cops keep this suspect in that restraining position too long? Evidently so. Possibly there was a preexisting condition that contributed to his death we don't know about yet? Perhaps there's more to the story, maybe the video evidence is incomplete, maybe the eye witnesses are prejudiced against the Po Po. Fire them first and convict them in the court of public opinion, then let's send them to prison and file suit against the taxpayers.

Is taking advantage of a 'perceived' injustice a license to riot, loot, burn the cities down, and punish innocent children, people and businesses? Look at the violent racist hate groups that are leading the charge and the socialist news media backing them. There's a world of difference between the words "united" and "unity". We may be called the "United States" but, we have no unity. We're being torn apart by religion, politics, envy, socialism, economic class, laws, regulations and so much more. What's the old saying? United we stand, divided we fall?

How can Christians respond to this type of a thing? Well, if they come to my home with me and my family in it, knowing there intent, actions and mentality, it will not be this.

Being in Canada.... I don't think we see racism played out in the same OUTWARDLY way we seem to see in the USA. Our laws do not protect FREE speech and so hate crimes are absolutely NOT tolerated as far as the law goes... With that said... this does not mean that we are CLEAN and FREE or ABOVE reproach... Our crimes in this nation have been towards the aboriginal people... ( I am not sure if I am using the proper term... I mean no disrespect )... There have been horrific things done to the natives from the North in our residential schools... and worse... the Catholic church seems to have played a huge role in the abuses. RACISM is such a very SAD state of AFFAIRS...   When I hear that groups like KKK still exist today... I find it distressing and I can't wrap my brain around the fact that ABUSE is protected by a constitution under the guise of FREE SPEECH. Some speech does NOT deserve to be spoken.. and in my opinion should not be protected.... WE all have the right to FREE speech.. whether the government permits it or not... I am thankful that GOD will have the LAST say in this matter.

Aboriginal is an OK term. Sometimes it depends on the location. I'm in northern BC. We usually refer to the indigenous people in general as "First Nations", or ideally for those whose territory we live in, by their tribal name. (Incidentally we live among the Wetsuwetin who were heavily in the news and the source of those demonstrations across Canada due to the pipeline project).

While the Catholic church was the main organization culpable in the residential school system, other denominations were also part of that mess.

Wow. I must be really isolated here under State mandated quarantine. This is news to me, but pretty much 24/7 I've got the Turner Classics Movie Channel on with (CC) closed captioning on and just do my usual multi-tasking. This also bi-passed the attention of my news search engine or got beyond me somehow. It's as bad as this? Rioting across the country? The last time I heard of something of this intensity was during the 1960's when the equal rights movement was being such an issue.
