I could not get past the first 5 minutes.  Maybe it's time to separate them into different rooms and shut off the mic of the one not given time to talk, keeping them to their allotted time.  The interruptions is what forced me to turn away.  I wanted to hear what each had to say, not listen to the back and forth childish antics.  What ever happened to maturity?

Yes I am in a different time zone.  But if I am not mistaken several international news channels including the BBC are going to be broadcasting it.

Or in other words it is going to be viewed by some in many countries around the world perhaps?

ps I am still hoping to be able to catch at least some of the broadcast.

:)

*edited to add..  that I did manage to watch the vast majority of the debate.. well almost all..  :)

- so many of the international news channels were broadcasting the debate

- I have never been to the Usa.. so it is interesting to see what democracy might be like in the Usa..

But I do wish that people wouldn't both be talking at the same time..(especially what happened in the early part of the debate).. because it was hard to try to hear or understand what is being said when there are two people talking..

But that is just my opinion.

Still interesting to watch.

:)

ps ps  I do hope it was ok for me to post on this thread even though I am not american?  Thanks!

  :)

I'm glad you posted in this thread.   Your comments are interesting.

I thought President Trump defended himself well, and he didn't appear nervous at all.   I thought Biden appeared more aged towards the end.

The next debate is October 7.... between VP Pence and Kamala Harris.   That should be interesting, Kamala being a lawyer/former Attorney General of California.   We know how lawyers can talk to defend themselves.

I thought they should have gotten a Kindergarten teacher to monitor it instead of Chris Wallace. Then put both of them in the "time out" chairs.

My thoughts:

Trump went into it upset. He's had bad encounters with Wallace before, I think he knew he was in for it to lean toward Biden because of that.

Wallace should not be a moderator if he's afraid to take control and be equally fair to both sides. I was shocked when he didn't scold Biden for his name calling and comments but was quick to ride Trump each time he interrupted.

Biden did better than I thought he would (still not convinced that someone wasn't feeding him what to say in his ear). You could tell toward the end it was wearing on him, he seemed exhausted.

Trump should have been quiet and allowed Biden to speak. Then Biden could have showed the flaws of his campaign and his lack of ability to be president more through his own words and "plans".

I felt like Trump did defend himself well, I wish he would have just showed a bit more maturity.

Next week's VP debate will be very interesting.

Just a note as to what I mean....   almost all of his questions were asked in a verbal form of accusations.  I went back and listened to it again to see if I could figure out why it was disturbing to me.....    it's on youtube, take the time to watch it again and see if you agree that most of the questions that Wallace asked the president was asked as an accusation from Biden's frame of view.....   and when he didn't get the answer he wanted he pushed further.

Example;  though the president has condemned the white supremacists and the KKK on several occasions, Wallace asked him why he hadn't and would he condemn them now....   the president responded "Sure"  and when that wasn't enough to suit Wallace he continued on and when the President asked him flat out OK who do you want me to condemn, Wallace changed the subject and didn't let the president answer him.

And most of the main stream media are saying that he refused to condemn them again when he plainly did but people were not listening.

Wallace may work for Fox News but he is not a conservative.  I don't think George would approve of posting what I think of him...   and have for many years...

It grieves my heart to know the entire world was watching the monstrosity that went down on that stage.

What about that crazy plan of Biden, to tear buildings and homes down to rebuild them?   Trump said that would cost $100 Trillion dollars!!!   And our country couldn't earn that much in 100 years.

I have to sign off now so can't look it up.   Had anyone else heard of that crazy plan before?

I just found information about Biden's  climate initiative.   Following is an excerpt.   (Trump's campaign says Biden is underestimating the costs.)

"Biden's climate initiative calls to chart the United States on "an irreversible path" to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

To do that, the plan would aim to achieve a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035. It would also upgrade 4 million buildings and weatherize 2 million homes over four years to increase energy efficiency. And the proposal, Biden's campaign said, would seek to shift major cities toward public transportation"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
