I believe the Holy Spirit came to me with this message as I woke up this morning.

I've been praying and thinking about the troubles in America, all the riots and unrest, and the gaping loopholes in democracy, and so I'm encouraged and comforted to receive the mind of Christ on the matter. . . America Must Forgive.

Several threads in US Politics have been locked as they are repetitive and its been difficult to keep up with moderating.

Perhaps the tone of this OP will lead to some edifying posts.

I'm not really sure what you mean by forgive....   forgive what and forgive who?    BTW the USA is not a democracy, it's a constitutional republic.   Huge difference.

America must forgive past grievances perhaps, the short comings of leaders maybe. Someone should make a list.

Funny what names are given to political parties, and what things make them jump up and down saying things like the recent Capitol Riot was an assault on democracy.

Is the United States a Democracy?

The United States is a democracy, but it is not a true democracy. Instead, it is a representative democracy. The common forms of democracy are direct democracy and representative democracy. A direct democracy is a system of government in which the majority have their say on every matter concerning governance. Direct democracies hold referendums each time an issue has to be decided upon because there are no elective representatives. The United States is a representative democracy, as the public elects individuals to represent them at the government level. The United States is also a constitutional democracy, meaning that the functions and roles of the government are governed by the constitution that also protects the rights and privileges of the citizenry regardless of whether they are majority or minority.

Democratic Republics

Modern states present themselves as democratic republics governed by a constitution. The government can amend the constitution through acts of parliaments and referendums. As long as the constitution continues to protect the rights of the people, the citizenry continues to vote for representatives, and the constitution limits the power of the government, the United States remains both a republic and a democracy.

At Gettysburg, Lincoln enshrined the people’s rule in the fervent pledge that, “under God,” this democracy “shall not perish from the earth.”

um.. I am thinking whether or not the Usa is considered a democracy might sometimes depend on which english language someone is using perhaps?

In many countries outside the Usa..  the definition of the term "democracy" includes representative democracies and not just direct democracy only.

Sorry no offence intended..truly.  Just wanted to mention about the english language differences.  Especially since the internet is international.. and there are non-americans even on worthy.

(Language differences can be um interesting .. at times!  :whistling: )

Like I said, we are a constitutional Republic.   Democracies have not lasted throughout history and the Democratic party is trying to convert  the USA into a Democracy and no we are not going to forget or forgive.

Democracies have, throughout history, always failed and ended up in Dictatorships in which life for the general public is miserable.    Why would any sane person forgive and forget and let a group of people do that to them.

Forgiveness is important, or at least a willingness to move on. Focusing on petty squabbles from the past and quid pro quo doesn't really get us anywhere.

At the same time 'moving on' doesn't mean we should forget the lessons of the past, or choose not to hold people accountable for actions. I think there's more to untangle legally with Trump, and I also think it's fair to judge Biden on his future actions, holding him accountable just like any other president.

according to the Federalist Papers that were written by our founding Fathers....   if you haven't read through them you really should to learn what this country is supposed to be all about.

Progressives/communists have tried to blend those two together as part of their hopes in transitioning so a socialist state so it would be no big deal to submit our laws and government to UN oversight.

There is a lot of bitterness that Biden is now our President. People need to let it go and move on.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
