Thank you.  Who did they say they were being made to worship?  or didn't they think that part was important?  ( that being the only thing that tells 'the season' so seems unreasonable to skip)

That's the thing, the prophecies are usually broken into constituents and examined in isolation avoiding connection to the whole. We shouldn't approach eschatology in bits and pieces with a microscope, it's an amazing look into a future where everything works together for a purpose.

Our future seems to be a Cosmic battle for all the marbles.

However, I am old and may die first so will not see it all.

Yes, so there is a lot that has been prophesied and pictured in type that is still to occur sometime in earth's future and only God knows the day and the hour.  It hasn't all been fulfilled yet.  So what is wrong with being a "futurist" or at least a "partial futurist"?  (not that I like labels and pigeon holes).  I don't get it.  Just that some things have been fulfilled, but with plenty more to come.....the biggest most important things that will wrap up the age, and fulfill so many prophecies, are still to come apparently.  I don't see there needs to be a quibble with "futurism" in that case.

For us to be in the millennium right now, then there would be no flesh and blood because no flesh and blood in the Kingdom of God.

Yeshua said, "Behold the kingdom is nigh unto you".

The apostle said, "You have been translated into the kingdom of His Dear Son".

Furthermore, Yeshua has been seated at the right hand of the Father. He is ruling and reigning right now. His Kingdom is established. RIGHT NOW.

THIS IS NOW and not some future story. The futurist hinders the gospel and probably helps people procrastinate. Especially the rapture stuff - "don't worry, we will be outta here soon. Just don't get involved in this fallen world."

The errors of futurism are impossible to cover in a single post. One reason why certain topics accumulate a staggering burden of pages has to do with repetition: new posters arrive asking old questions; other posters respond with old answers; 13 pages becomes 50 which turns into 85. The longer a topic, the more difficult it is to become apprised of the contents. I liken it to a merry-go-around that never stops spinning.

Therefore it's necessary to address one issue at any given time. Most are probably familiar with the harmony of the scriptures --- scripture does not disagree with scripture --- and this harmony is something which futurism often violates. For example, let's look at the reign of Jesus Christ.

A popular futurist view: the Lord returns to establish the millennial kingdom on earth prior to the resurrection of the dead (the White Throne judgment). This view violates the harmony of the scriptures. Not an exhaustive list, but it will do.

The kingdom of God is not of this world.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” (John 18:36 NKJV)

The kingdom of God is not observed with these eyes.

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21 NKJV)

Jesus Christ ascended to heaven to sit with our Father. God's throne is in heaven; the Lord reigns over all of creation from His throne. He is the Almighty for all things serve Him.

So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19 NJKV)

But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” (Acts 7:55-56 NKJV)

“Heaven is My throne,
And earth is My footstool.
Where is the house that you will build Me?
And where is the place of My rest?"

(Isaiah 66:1 NKJV)

‘This decision is by the decree of the watchers,
And the sentence by the word of the holy ones,
In order that the living may know
That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men,
Gives it to whomever He will,
And sets over it the lowest of men.’

(Daniel 4:17 NJKV)

Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in heaven.
Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
You established the earth, and it abides.
They continue this day according to Your ordinances,
For all are Your servants.

(Psalm 119:89-91 NKJV)

This belief in a geopolitical kingdom of the earth was a stumbling stone for those who called themselves Jews (but weren't), who expected the Messiah to come and re-establish the Davidic kingdom of old. That Peter (who was indeed a Jew) harbored such an expectation himself is demonstrated in his rebuking of the Lord (Matthew 16:23) and his drawing of a sword to strike those who arrived to arrest our Savior (John 18:10).

It persists to this day in the futurist belief that modern geopolitical Israel is the same Israel of God which it is clearly not; Israel is not accounted after the flesh for we are Jews inwardly (Romans 2:29). Peter and the apostles were demonstrated to be Jews as were those Hebrews who believed in the Son whom our Father sent (yes, even some of the Pharisees were Jews). We, being wild branches --- gentiles --- are grafted into the same tree to which our Hebrew brethren belong (Romans 11:17).

Christ started to reign when He ascended to sit with our Father in heaven. Those who were Jews (but were not) stumbled again, not grasping that the Word made flesh is the Son of David and also his Lord! (Matthew 22:41-45)

The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!

(Psalm 110:1-2 NKJV)

Not an exhaustive treatment by any means, but then much of this has already been covered in this topic so the merry-go-round continues to spin. :)

Not sure how any of the above abrogates physical fulfillment of eschatology. What you posted is overarching spiritual truths about the kingdom, true Israel and the person Jesus Christ and His nature and kingship, not a refutation of the indications eschatological utterance will be literally fulfilled.

The ancient prophecies of Jesus of Nazareth were literally fulfilled or there is no covering for sin or a resurrection. Those prophecies were fulfilled in a real and physical time/space moment but eschatology is are spiritually fulfilled? Or in the deep past? Or not at all?

"On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south. 5You will flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him." - Zech 14

"Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.d 17And should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, then the rain will not fall on them. 18And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter in, then the rain will not fall on them; this will be the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 19This will be the punishment of Egypt and of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles."

You post the truth, just not all of it.

The ancient prophecies of Jesus of Nazareth were literally fulfilled or there is no covering for sin or a resurrection. Those prophecies were fulfilled in a real and physical time/space moment but eschatology is are spiritually fulfilled? Or in the deep past? Or not at all?

There is precious little about the first advent for a very good reason. "Had they but known, they never would have killed the Lord of Glory".

So it will be cryptic for the second advent and meanwhile the futurists distract us from proclaiming the gospel and invent rapture stuff and all kinds of ideas to ignore the Kingdom and have us worrying about an unclear future. Read the Geneva commentaries and not the Darby ones or Scofield.

Yes indeed, the kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). Who dwells with us? The Spirit of Christ. Who dwells with Christ? Us! Furthermore, we are a royal priesthood and a holy nation.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10 NKJV)

Blessed and holy are those who have a part in the first resurrection: the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the first born of many brethren (Romans 8:29). We are buried with Him in death; we are raised with Him in Life (Colossians 2:12).

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6 NKJV)

My wife asked me just a few moments ago--if I read enoch along with the Bible and why enoch was not included in the Bible. I reminded her that both Peter and Jude quoted enoch and the the Lord allowed that into the canon we now have as our bible.

She asked again, why the folks back when didn't include enoch---I said that I don't really know, but that we are always and continually learning and that perhaps Enoch will have more to teach the Church as events unfold and shine additional light on what we will be seeing and experiencing. Something else that has been roaming in my mind is what Jude said about the body of Moses. Where did Jude learn about that and why did the Lord allow it to be included in our bibles.

Yeshua said, "Behold the kingdom is nigh unto you".

The apostle said, "You have been translated into the kingdom of His Dear Son".

Furthermore, Yeshua has been seated at the right hand of the Father. He is ruling and reigning right now. His Kingdom is established. RIGHT NOW.

Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.

Even here is states the 'difference' between the two.

So that isn't Christ.  EVERY eye is not seeing Him right now, are they?    Or do you believe the Holy Spirit sent  is actually the only manifestation of Christ to ever be on the earth again?

He was walking and talking and eating and in a body
and it says

Acts 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Acts 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Acts 1:12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

AS He left is as he is returning.
the HOLY SPIRIT right now,  it is all nigh unto us.  That is very different than IN PERSON Lord and Saviour.

Lord of lord and King of kings, The kingdom of God.  Remember if they would have accepted Him then, then HE WOULD have never left and would be here in body walking and  talking and teaching and performing miracles and all the rest.

I asked a bunch of questions a few pages ago any progress on those so far?

If the prophecies are reliable then the future is seen with great clarity and is not clouded in the least. The Revelation, et.al., lays out a clear future with Christ at the head, many ministers, millions of believers, a pristine earthly plane, in a glorious peaceful eternity. How is that either unclear or undesirable?

People make up stuff all the time. Who cares? Are we going to fret about made up stuff in the name of Jesus and ignore the lies with which we are bombarded every moment by the news, corporations, employers, family, friends and lovers?

God is still our Father, Jesus is still the King, the Holy Spirit is our sure guide and all three can be relied on unequivocally. I care not for the wisdom of mankind and neither should any believer.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
