My mother and father have both had both of the Moderna shots, and my brother has had both of his Pfizer shots.

You might be confusing a vaccine with the gene therapy Covid 19 shots.  A vaccine is antigens, and water (or are supposed to be).  This mRNA shot is not that.

Define "minimize". 

That is, if you were in separate rooms with a glass wall between you, that would minimize it further. 

To me, this is a tough subject because you are never really done "minimizing", and "safely" is a word that really needs a qualifier to have any meaning. 

I think that my mother is relatively safe by meeting with me face to face. The price paid by wearing a mask or putting a barrier between us is too high - especially considering just how much improvement in safety (virtually none) that it brings. 

Add to that the simple fact that us old Christians are not afraid of death. Yes, I'm that old too. At the end of the day, we are ALL just people holding hands on the deck of the Titanic as it goes down. We are all just biding our time for the 70 or so years it takes each one of us to slip between the icy waters. 

Destroying quality of life to "perhaps" increase it a few months or days is not a good tradeoff IMO, especially considering Paul's quote. 

I've driven all over the country visiting friends and family, including the elderly. The only time I ever wore a mask was when entering a restaurant, and then quickly removing when I sat down at my table. If I thought they actually helped, I'd feel differently.

Disclaimer: I dumped TV in 1997, so I'm not exposed to the MSM, PSA's, etc. I simply read articles by biased and "relatively" unbiased sources to get the skinny on why masks are or are not useful. The science is actually interesting when you really get into the weeds. If you really want protection, wear a full face gas mask. The rest is theater. 

But the good news is that there is little that you really need to be protected from anyway.

I just had an estate sale for my father. I was maskless around over a hundred people, most of whom were also maskless. We didn't give it a second thought. Some of these people were, like my dad, in their nineties. None of them were the least bit afraid. It seems to be mostly the young that are convinced masks actually offer real protection from a real virus that is everywhere, just waiting to nail you. Older people have been through this before. This is not our first dance. This is not our first rodeo. It is not unusual at all - once the hyperbolic news is removed from the formula.

However, there are real risks, but not from the virus: Breast-fed Baby passes away after being poisoned by Mother who had taken the Pfizer Covid Vaccine

And about masks, the latest of many regarding the science: Top Epidemiologist — Masks in school are ‘useless’

I'm back from my second shot. Nothing to report. It was uneventful thank God.

I had a 30 minute wait to see if there would be any reactions. None. 

I am apprehensive about the next 24 hours because a few of my friends reported feeling sick for a short time. We'll see. I hope I'm one of the fortunate ones.

On a different note.. some thoughts..

There are several different Covid vaccines that are used in countries around the world.. and not just the particular ones that are used in the Usa....  

There are also different types of Covid vaccines.  Some are um 'old fashioned' type vaccines ..not mRNA ones..

Since worthy is international.. and there are folk from different countries even on this thread.. I thought it might be helpful / interesting  to see a list of some of the different Covid vaccines that are possibly being used in some countries..
