The battle of Armageddon

Revelation 16:14
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Revelation 16:16-19
And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

(Strong's #717 Armageddo, or Armageddon = Mount of Megiddo, “gathering place of the crowd”)

Strong's #2022
har (har); a shortened form of OT:2042; a mountain or range of hills (sometimes used figuratively):
KJV - hill (country), mount (-ain),  promotion.

Strong's 4023
Megiddown (Zech 12:11) (meg-id-done'); or Megiddow (meg-id-do'); from OT:1413; rendezvous; Megiddon or Megiddo, a place in Palestine:
KJV - Megiddo, Megiddon.

There is a valley of Megiddo just outside of Jerusalem, and Megiddo is the gathering place of the crowd.

I believe that the battle of Armageddon will be in Jerusalem on Mount Zion where the AC is claiming to be God.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Revelation 16:16-19

16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

Seventh Bowl: The Earth Utterly Shaken

17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

Step back to Revelation 16:12-14 to see the players in the battle.

Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared.  And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.  For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Where are they gathered to?  Revelation 16:16 tells us.

And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

Megiddo, within the Jezreel Valley, is a great valley with enough room for all the armies that came to battle to fit.  It runs from the Mediterranean Sea East/South East to the Jordan River, the width of Israel.

The battle will encompass Jerusalem from all sides.  Notice that the players come from all over the world, from every direction.

@Selah7  Search You Tube for the title "Tel Megiddo Full Length Overview Tour! Armageddon, End Times, Jezreel Valley, Holy Land, Israel!" as it covers what both I siad and what you said, which I agree that a great battle will be fought in Jerusalem.

As alluded to there is much symbolism in the place name Armaggedon. The root word is referenced here:

Strongs H1413
גָּדַד
gâdad
gaw-dad'
A primitive root (compare H1461); to crowd; also to gash (as if by pressing into): - assemble (selves by troops), gather (selves together, self in troops), cut selves.
Total KJV occurrences: 9

I agree,

Logically Jerusalem too small for armies of the world to assemble.

I think it's interesting to notice that in Revelation 16, people generally become vampires; drinking blood and shunning the sunshine.
We can see that the way the enemy is preparing for those times is to glorify and make popular vampirism.

And sure, the armies coming to fight against Christ and us saints will be on the ground somewhere around Israel, perhaps they will have some planes and helicopters too, but we will be high up in the air in the clouds with Christ. An exceedingly great army of resurrected and glorified saints. [Ez 37:9-10] We will rejoice when we see the vengeance, we shall wash our feet in the blood of the wicked. [Psalm 58:10]
The wicked shall be ashes under the soles of our feet in the day that the Lord does it, [Malachi 4:3] the day the Lord comes to be glorified in His saints. [2 Thess 1:7-10]

Jesus grew up in Nazareth just a short distance east of the Valley of Megiddo. This valley occupies about 180 sq. miles.  What armies are involved.  East, West. North, South.  The East (China) goes unobstructed across the Euphrates to this valley.  The North (Russia and its allies) has a straight line down.  The South (Africa) must go through Jerusalem to get there.  The West (Europe) (A/C and his hordes) already there and or come across the Mediterranean.  You are looking at about 1.5 billion people plus horses all dying here.  Blood up to a horses bridle. Then the flesh eaten by birds of prey.  No mention of anyone burying anybody. Yet the land will be cleansed. Look at a Mideast area map. Formulate your own line of attack.  Get an idea of how it goes down.

In Christ

To answer the OP.

"Har mo'ed" in the Hebrew (transliterated mean Mountain of Assembly or Zion) Remember John was israeli and said, 'in the Hebrew tongue' not in the Septuagint Greek tongue.

Nothing to do with Megiddo. It is flat there. No mountains. Remember: get used to 'prophet speak'.

Hi there, Justin :)

Rev. 16:16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Rev. 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

There's the hail! This happens to those gathered together five verses ago in Rev. 16:16 in the place "called" Armageddon, which means rendevous, or gathering.  Jesus Christ returns to Jerusalem, which is where Satan's crowd will be gathered.

So the kings are gathered.  The 7th Trump sounds and God pours out the 7th Vial.

Rev. 10:7
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Rev. 16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Har mo-ed is Hebrew. It is a mountain 'Har'; 'mo'ed', and assembly. Check the Hebrew. This is a good example of poor translations and transliterations. There are NO mountain in Megiddo. This is a pop-pulpit mistake.

"If you're unfamiliar with Hebrew, I know that going from "Armageddon" to "har mo'ed" seems like a stretch. But trust me, it works. Heiser notes that this expression is found in Isaiah 14:13. This is a passage usually attributed to Satan's defiance of God and Heiser treats it fully elsewhere in his books."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
