That's what happens when the government spends money it doesn't have, as it has in dealing with the virus.

Here is an article with several good reasons for this.

Yes I have noticed. A gallon of regular unleaded fuel is $ 3.25 a gallon in PA. I filled up on the way home in Delaware for 2.99.

Lumber prices are high. I need to buy some pressure treated wood for a platform and I'm afraid to look at the prices. I expect to pay double what it was last year. The price of food seems to be slowly climbing here if you buy it from a grocery store. There are still decent buys to be had if you shop around.

Some are  predicting hyper inflation on the horizon. It would not surprise me. As others have said, you can't pay people more to stay home and expect the economy to reboot.

Pressure treated plywood has really escalated in recent years. At our church we build a lot of wheel chair ramps for the elderly.
We have switched from $$ treated plywood to solid treated 2x6 lumber, which lasts longer anyway.

For my shop, I buy plywood by the unit, 40-60 sheets per unit, 3/4" MDO, 1/2" MDF, two units at a time.
A single sheet of 3/4" MDO 3yrs ago was $55.00, and now over a hundred.
The price hike in one week can cost me over a thousand dollars more/less, per delivery.
Mill closures have caused the 3/4" MDO to run out locally. No plywood, no work. No income.
So now I try to keep stocked up not knowing future availability.
I bid a job recently based on (anticipated) inflated cost, and got it. The lumber Co. honored their old quote.
Timing saved me a grand. It's crazy. Thank God for direction to act timely. It's the little things.
Once the mills are all back on line, as they have slowly been doing, prices will/should reflect.
Supply and demand. God bless America....

Being in the building trade must be crazy right now. I was thinking of building another chicken house because one of my hens has 9 chicks and another has two plus i have three larger ones getting feathers with nowhere to put them all.

I am seriously looking at building the frames from shipping crates as I can get them for free. I would still need to cover it with something and the legs need to be PT wood. ...or maybe I'll just give the chicks away.:)

Get on craigs list and type in 'old cedar fences'
Fence companies will replace 6' cedar fences removing 6'-8' +/_ sections for easy transport.
They will typically sell these sections, 6-8 foot long, by 6 foot tall for ten bucks.
People love the weathered look for bird houses and yard art.
I try to find the 1x6 vs 1x4 fencing for the width. They are fastened to 2x4s 6' long
I put my land here in Texas on a wildlife program vs cattle were phasing out. (Praise God!)
I build wildlife boxes/houses nesting boxes for song bird, squirrel, owl, water fowl, duck etc.
Those old fences just seem to last forever, and no painting.   Good luck...
PS.  Use 1/4 hardware cloth at bottom 3 foot, or your uninvited neighbor hood chicken snakes
will all be eating breakfast at your place........:)
Plastic eggs work also.

I have relatives in the construction business and they tell me that an average cost of building a $250,000 house has increased about $60,000 because of the increase of just about everything from wood to concrete to appliances.  And sometimes they can't find the things they need.  I had my car in the shop this morning getting it serviced for scheduled service done and they tell me that it's getting hard to get some parts that fail on cars.

For those who cannot understand what's going on. A little book titled "The Law", by Frederic Bastiat, will more than explain. This is not taught in public education or institutions of higher learning anymore. Armed with this knowledge [and our Bible of course], we see exactly the reasons, plan, purpose and goals.

The cycle of nations and empires is predictable, and repeated over and over again. But this time, it will culminate in mans desire for safety, peace and harmony; with a global government. I think we know how that turns out?

I wonder if every generation goes through something like this.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
