It doesn't work that way--the inter-functioning of the Body of Christ beholding the Head is not just about knowledge--its is about Life and that Life maturing us. We are being changed into His likeness one degree of Glory to another.

Christianity is Alive and vital--just as life itself is. When I was young, I looked forward to getting old because I naively thought I would have 'arrived'.

What I have in fact learned--is that the surface has been barely scratched.

You don't have to be a pastor to be wise. As a matter of fact, some of the most foolish people I know are pastors.

I would agree, except Jesus tells us not to call ourselves teachers. So we teach, though I see I still have a lot to learn from Jesus.

I understand the new believers need to be taught the milk of the words of God but the older people still need the meat

First thing is to talk to him, to stress the positive and then to mention the 'but ' that mature Believers are finding the teaching lacking and could part of his sermons be to challenge them in there Christian walk.

Ask others to also have a quite word on these lines, it is only if he does not respond that you should seek a group meeting with him and any other leaders.

A preacher should be able to write a sermon that meets the needs of new believers as well as mature Believers and those in between.

In a thirty minute sermon, ten minutes to new believers, ten minutes to mature and ten minutes of application.

Different worship styles can also be accommodated, example first Sunday a rock style, second a gospel style, third a mix of trad and gospel , and forth Sunday a traditional hymn prayer sandwich.

Talk to the guy.

May I suggest having two services, one for the new and young in Him and another for the older, more mature group?  I imagine it is hard to bridge the two groups in order to find a "middle ground", so to say.

That is a good idea.

@debrakay

Well, my experience with this, in some Churches I attended in  the past, was there were usually 2 services.

One for the older more moderate believers, with the older traditional songs and teachings, and then the other service, that has more up to date songs and teachings for the younger set.

It was nice for everyone to have a choice, and I think several of the churches in my area are still having their 2 services and it seems to work really well.

We have been going to our fellowship for over 30 years and are actually part of the group who founded the non-denominational church we attend.  Last July our old pastors retired and new younger pastors came in.  They are wonderful, great people and this is their first church as senior pastors.  They have a heart for younger people and even during all of the covid restrictions were able to bring in some new young families.  But during this first year, more than a dozen couples of the older group of members left the church due to the new pastor only preaching to the new believers and nothing for the older believers.  They also changed the praise and worship to be more of a rock concert than praise and worship, also to cater to the new, young crowd.

I understand the new believers need to be taught the milk of the words of God but the older people still need the meat teachings.   Should we just be thankful the church is bringing in new believers and let the older ones move on or should we ask the new pastors to include some teachings for those who have been with the church for decades and still need some stimulating teachings?

I would love to hear your words of wisdom!

Instead of waiting that someone give us spiritual food, let's get it directly from Him that is the Bread of Life and, thus, feed multitudes by ourselves ,with the "breads" and "fishes" which Jesus multiplied in our life (Mark 6:37).

@debrakay In my experience the rock concert format is often a sign that meat is not on the menu. Time to feed yourself rather than depend on the pop-culture pleasers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
