That’s another very interesting point ,Heleadeth me, I look back and think what ever planet was I on, it’s only these past few years that I’m growing in the Lord.

I try and look back over those lost years, but it’s like it’s been erased from my mind, apart from Him showing me that I had much crap to let go of, I believe he brought me through all that..now these past few years I’m really starting to learn and being on here is greatly helping me.🙏

I think there is the factor of the Lord working in our lives/hearts through the trials and breakings as well....making our hearts ready for more of Him.  That takes time, so really it is not wasted time.  :)  Truth is something we pay a price for in a way as we follow Jesus.  The bible says "Buy the truth but sell it not."

 @Heleadethme😊

Thank you for your replies, 😀

Sorry, what I meant by the posting of the Scriptures, was to show that yes, we certainly do have a responsibility as disciples, to grow in our understanding, and to be able to disciple others, (to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord).

However, what I was also trying to get across was that the Lord has also specifically given the gift of teaching to some. Some, are called to be Pastors, some are called to the official office of Evangelist, and some (not all) are called to teach.

Therefore not all are given the gift of teaching.

It is the Scripture itself...

John 12:47-48

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
KJV

your missing the point Noob.   I have seen three people here read the same scripture and have three different ideas of what it says.    English can do that.

Why not go to the Lord and ask Him for wisdom and understanding instead of relying on the arm of flesh and trusting in man?  It's HIS word, He is the best one to reveal it.

I would do that as well. I know that there are Bible scholars out there that are very good but it is important to find those who can be trusted with God's precious Word.

Good then we are aware that false teaching is being posted on Worthy.

We need to know and study the Word of God so well that we know a false teacher or counterfeit when we see it. We need to pray to God as we study His Word to give us the truth. How He wants those words to be engraved in our minds. Not just give any meaning to God's Word or our own meaning.

Did you have a paticular false teaching in mind when you posted?

It can be possible that one is so overtaken by a teaching that is false that they take true teaching as being false. So many sheep just accept false teaching for gosple truth with out really searching the scriptures. Luke 6: 39 and he spake a parable unto them. Can the blind lead the blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?

Just a short point. At this point in time a myriad of peoples have read scripture from many perspectives, most often starting from a series of assumptions and pre-conceived notions and then reading and 'learning' through these lenses.

This is inevitable and demonstrably so. Because of this and other human things, most all of us gravitate toward those who believe and or teach the same things based on what was derived from the aforementioned lenses. Over time we can become hardened into a mold and those can become as 'high-towers'.

Because of these tendencies, it is good to stretch out in open minded and hearted attentions and listen to those who are of different views.

My suggestion, of course, assumes that the parties are regenerate and have the Helper along.

A great many who purport to teach or to be teachers---are not and should not.

None of us can stand alone. This is both spiritually and structurally impossible and a sure menu for error. The Body of Christ is composed of many members and all are required as our Lord has ordained.

There are a great many 'loose cannons' out there. Beware of those.

God gave us tools over the centuries since reformation to help as a sort of 'fence' to help us stay in the lines while we conduct our study and inquiry.

Finally--regardless of our mental capacity--God takes care of His own and makes sure we have what we need--for His purpose in each.

Some disdain intellect and its application to scripture. This is silly.

Sure--if all we have is a bible and our cottage in isolation this is one thing, but this is the case for few. There is a great deal available to us all these days more than ever.

Recall that Peter himself said that some of what Paul wrote was hard to understand.

Paul was likely a genius himself, but certainly had the equivalent of two phDs, when educated in Tarsus (a center of culture and education) as a Roman and in the Law as a Pharisee. He was uniquely qualified for his appointed task. Paul was a fanatic before and after Damascus.

:-)

2Pet. 3:14 (NAS20S)    Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace, 15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, 16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which there are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of   unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

So--some things are difficult to understand and all the more with so much confusion out there. We all need help and we all need each other.

Iron sharpens iron.

That's the thing sister...nobody can be trusted.  Anyone and everyone can be and often are, subject to error and mistakes because we're all human, as well as being at difference places in our walk.   Our trust and reliance needs to be in the Lord alone.  That's why it says to test everything...test all things.  Of course the Lord can and does  speak to us and teach us through others, but the tendency of our flesh is to start slacking off in our own alertness and diligence and just let someone else do all the heavy lifting just because they have been right about some things and we learned from them at some point.

I think of it like growing up as children.  When we're very young it doesn't enter into our mind that our parents could be wrong about anything.  But as we grow and mature, we start to realize that they have faults and can be mistaken about things.  And then as 'adults' we should be able to start carrying our own load as well as helping our parents.

As to the former: because many if not most believers are not mature enough to hear God or hear Him correctly. As to the latter: the two are not mutually exclusive; the wisdom of God tells us to study, not just pray, and it tells us there is much wisdom in much counsel. The challenge is finding right counsel, not just any counsel, having sufficient knowledge of the Word to measure all counsel, and and sufficient spiritual maturity to discern and apply all of it fruitfully.......

....here in a Worthy post! ;)

God can and does use the various members of His Body to teach, preach, counsel, etc....but we are not to rely on the arm of flesh.  Our reliance needs to be on God and then He can speak to us, teach us etc through any means He wants.  Even when it is another person speaking, it is really HIS voice we are listening for...having ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.

I wonder why most believers are not mature enough to hear from God?  In my observation churches are not very good at maturing the flock.  The priests bear rule by their means and the people love to have it so.  There are unfortunate realities of human nature that exist in the church....and really I think that is what many of the warnings and admonitions are about.  Certain people love to have the pre-eminence and so they don't work themselves out of their job so to speak...and other people love to have it so.  Ergo....come  out of her my people.  If we are to grow up we really need to 'leave home' at some point, so to speak, at the leading of the Lord when one is ready.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
