Why are you calling my attention to a picture that you have already shown multiple times?

What most people who bash on churches for not opening their doors to the homeless dont realize that in most places they legally cannot do so. To do so opens them up to fines from the government and lawsuits otherwise.

The reason being are two fold...most churches do not have the appropriate facilities. To open up to the homeless they would then be considered shelters, which means they would need not just bathrooms but full bathrooms with showers, and how many would depend on how many people they intend to shelter. They would likely have to have staff on hand at all times as well.

They would also have to carry increased insurance. Once you combine the massive renovations most churches would have to go through with the increased staff and insurance premiums most churches literally cannot afford to do so.

There are some churches that do but theyre few and far between. In many cases its easier and cheaper to support a separate shelter that draws funding from multiple churches which you see happen in your larger cities.

Very few churches can afford to keep the homeless....and of those that can, even fewer have any interest. Once you get into the mega churches like Olsteens, the focus is more on tickling of the ears then it is on ministry.

There is a question of security.  Churches without armed security to protect their parishioners leaves their flock at risk. This is not a good thing.

that's what carry permits are for.    Some people in the church should be armed.   My pastor is armed when he's at the church by himself and so is his wife.    Several of us carry to all church functions.

We do help homeless people and others, however there is a limit to how much an individual church or person can do.  We have a county wide 501c food bank that feeds hundreds of people every day.

I have a homeless person come by my house on a regular basis and I usually give him $20 to $50 depending on his needs.   Our city, Shawnee Oklahoma, is noted for taking care of homeless.   People from out of state come here at times.

Our church supports a 'Rescue Mission' that feeds and houses the homeless locally.
Like others have said, we do not have the facilities or permits.
We also send young men occasionally to give a small sermon while they study for ministry.
A church is a regular prime target for the forever con artist looking for a easy mark/opportunity.
We give no money, but will buy groceries or fill up a gas tank.
People who have a heart for the homeless and helpless are doing it.
Not talking about it.

Just sharing what that church and its members are sacrificing. It will look like slum but they are sheltering Jesus actually. Wont people glorify God when they see this ? Its all for God glory.

What i see over here its the buddhist temple and not a single magnificent million dollars church sheltering people.

How could the good news of Gospel Salvation reach the poor unbelievers if the church do not sacrifice all out of what it has for the poor ? Christianity shall be banned in the great tribulation, churches shall be destroyed,....including the million dollars churches. What good is that for ? Look at that old mother Theresa did in Calcutta, she used food and shelter to actually bring people to church !

Blessings Hartono. What you said is all well and good, my question was more about why are you calling MY attention to something you have already shown, and not just share it with everyone. You have already shared it elsewhere.

Now, almost against my better judgment, hesitatingly I am going to  offer you the same sort of thing that you like to do:

You seem to have a fixation, almost a hobby, of finding things to be critical about. You don't like big churches, fine. You don't like tithing, fine, you even call it a scam or a fraud. You seem to fall in for all sorts of odd Covid things, and criticize those who come to different conclusions. You do actually try to post something more Bible focused - that is your belief in a pre-trib rapture. I don't buy it, but I get that you do.
I would just like to see you expand your horizons a bit more, to things perhaps. that directly speak to doctrines which are critically important, gospel outreach, ways that we might improve our walks with the Lord and helping others which are not composed of the shortcomings you see in others. Edification build people up, criticism from peers, just tears us down.

So, is it time yet for us to move on from being critics of others and look at ourselves honestly, or do you see this as your personal mission from God. You do not have to answer this, but I hope you take it into consideration. I apologize is this comes across as harsh.

Hartono, I wrote what I did above about 4 hours ago. A few minutes ago I was thinking, that I was probably a little hard on you. I did of course mean what I said, nothing insincere about it, but I was perhaps a bit to judgmental myself, While I may (an do) disagree with some of the things you say and focus on, I also believe that you do so from the integrity of your heart before the Lord, and you answer to him, not to me.

I apologize to you, and encourage you to always follow your conscience, but to do so prayerfully, to really seek that it is God's will that you are following. May we all always be sensitive to that!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
