It is my "opinion" that the (Two Witnesses) of Revelation chapter 11 will be Enoch and Elijah who never experienced a physical death, as Hebrews 9:27 below states its appointed unto man once to die?

As Revelation 11:7-8 below shows, the (Two Witnesses) will be killed fulfilling death for Enoch/Elijah?

Hebrews 9:27KJV

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Revelation 11:7-8KJV

7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

We don't know who they will be since the Bible is silent on that. But it makes sense to me that they will be Enoch and Elijah. But that is only my speculation.

It might be me and Enoob for all we know that is written about them.    That would be pretty remote though.

I concur. It will be Enoch and Elijah.

John 1:21- And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

Luke 1:17And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Mal 4:5- Behold, will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Shalom, t7t7.

Who ever said that they DIDN'T die? We're just never TOLD about their deaths, one way or another! Hebrews 11:5 SEEMS to say that Hanowkh ("Enoch") didn't die, but one must be sure to check the Greek. This is what we know about Hanowkh:

Genesis 5:18-24 (KJV)

18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch: 19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: 22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: 23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: 24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5-6 (KJV)

5 By faith Enoch (Greek: Henookh) was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

People claim that Eliyahuw ("Elijah") was also take without seeing death. Again, we're not really told that he didn't die. Here's what we know of his last day:

2 Kings 2:1-18 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 And Elijah said unto Elisha,

"Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel."

And Elisha said unto him,

"As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee."

So they went down to Bethel. 3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him,

"Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day?"

And he said,

"Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace."

4 And Elijah said unto him,

"Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho."

And he said,

"As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee."

So they came to Jericho. 5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him,

"Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day?"

And he answered,

"Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace."

6 And Elijah said unto him,

"Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan."

And he said,

"As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee."

And they two went on. 7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. 8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. 9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha,

"Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee."

And Elisha said,

"I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me."

10 And he said,

"Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so."

11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried,

"My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof!"

And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. 13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; 14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said,

"Where is the LORD God of Elijah?"

and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over. 15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said,

"The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha!"

And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him. 16 And they said unto him,

"Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley."

And he said,

"Ye shall not send."

17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said,

"Send."

They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not. 18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them,

"Did I not say unto you, Go not?"

So, the fiery chariot and horses divided Elishah from Eliyahuw, and Eliyahuw was taken up IN A TEMPEST OF THE SKY - probably a tornado, and we know nothing about him after that.

I'm glad we have found a common ground. I also suspect, but cannot prove, that the Two Witnesses are Enoch and Elijah. Here is my argument.

1. The word "witness" in the Greek means "one has seen something and is prepared to testify even with consequences". Now the situation in Jerusalem the last 3½ years is as follows. Rome, the last Gentile World Power, which swapped its soldiers for priests, and which fornicates with the kings of the earth, knows that Israel is the true center of world power. Satan, well versed in history, knows that if Israel keeps the Law and obeys God, they are invincible. Added to this, Rome, with 1.3 billion adherents, Islam with 1.6 billion adherents and fundamental Christianity with the Jews all regard Jerusalem as the "city of the great King". So, world political, military AND religious power power is centered at Jerusalem. And it is here that the world leader - the Beast, takes up residence.

Now, Jesus has been preached for 2,000 years but is largely rejected. The Beast only abides a short time and is accepted and empowered politically and religiously - a deep affront to God, especially when the Beast occupies the Holy of Holies. For Israel to allow a Gentile king into a Temple at Jerusalem to be worshiped and obeyed politically is a double affront to God. Men have actively chosen and been marked to show allegiance to EVIL - the same set of circumstances leading up to the Great Flood. Of this, Enoch was a WITNESS. And in regard to the Law of Moses, Israel putting and worshiping a Gentile man in their Temple is lawless to the uttermost. Of this idol worship by Israel Elijah was a WITNESS.

Both of these two men WITNESSED a situation where God was incensed and brought UNIVERSAL JUDGMENT of the perpetrators. They would have a very powerful testimony. They saw it all before. And they can testify that bad things are going to happen to men who are involved with this.

2. Elijah is predicted to come before the Day of the Lord (Ma.4:4-6). Some will argue that Elijah already came in John Baptist, but John only had the Spirit that was in Elijah (Lk.1:17). In 2nd Kings 2:15 Elisha gets the Spirit that Elijah had. This must be the same Holy Spirit that motivated and inspired the prophets, not Elijah's spirit for if Elijah's human spirit left him he would be dead (Jas.2:26). Elijah is prophesied to come just before the "Day of the Lord".

Some will say that one of the Witnesses is Moses because of the signs done. But Moses has died once and is resurrected (for the meeting with Christ in the Kingdom in Matthew 17 - Jude 14). But we agree. Man can only die once (Heb.9:27), and for Moses to be in the kingdom means that he possesses eternal life through the rebirth AND he is a "child of the resurrection" who cannot die (Lk.20:36). Much more, the signs, although they point to Moses, point to Egypt the first Great World Power that persecuted God's people. In Revelation 12 and 13 we see the extent of the Beast's persecution of the saints.

Like many things in Revelation we cannot be categorical, but we can study the evidence.

It seems to me that Lazarus has already died twice.   Unless he's still alive.

I would think that if one has gone through the experience that it would not be a big deal to do it again.   Maybe hurt some.

I don't understand why it can't just be someone alive today filled with the Holy Spirit.

The plagues brought as seen below clearly describe Elijah for certain

Revelation 11:6KJV

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

God could give me that power if he chose me to be one of the two.   Don't give the individual doing Gods work the credit for the work.  It will be God who does those things not the two.   And that could be anyone God chooses.  If it mattered who these two are we would be told plainly.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
