Shalom everyone,

I intentionally started a controversial thread not to divide, but rather to see if anyone truly understood the days in which we are living.

First assumption on a Christian forum ... the Word of God states that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.  That God does not change over time!

2nd assumption ... if He is the SAME yesterday, today and forever, then we can study the past in order that we do not make the SAME mistakes as were written before us.

1 Cor 10:11  And all these things happened to them as examples; and it is written for our warning on whom the ends of the world have come.

The passage in 1 Cor. 10 points use to the Exodus wanderings ... and was written for our admonition.  When studying the Exodus, God TESTED the children of Israel in the wilderness.

Deu 8:2  And you shall remember the whole way that the LORD your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.

If God is the same yesterday, today and forever ... then you have to understand that you are BEING TESTED right NOW!

The question now is ... will you realize that you are being TESTED even now ... and will you pass the TEST?

Your brother in the Lord with much agape love,

George

Well said George but some seem to be on the defense rather than realize they are being tested.

Had to remember these verses recently:

1Pe 1:6-9  In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,  (7)  that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,  (8)  whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,  (9)  receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

Jas 1:2-4  My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,  (3)  knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.  (4)  But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

The command is to be perfect as the Lord our God is perfect.  We have All failled that.

Jesus said, ' If you Love me you will obey my commands.'  Well do we we obey Jesus's command to Love others as he loves?

We have a nature that is scarred and rutted by sin and it is far to easy for us to follow those ruts than to make and keep habits that don't lead us into sin.

Is it a test?      I look at it more as a learning experience.   None of us can pass the test by ourselves.  If we learn to lean on the Lord for the ability to finish the test, then we will seen as passing.  Not on our own.

Can we by ourselves ever meet Gods standards?

My patience gets tested everyday, more as I get older and find certain tasks becoming difficult, but when it comes to my faith being tested, the example of Habakkuk is immensely effective in guiding me to higher ground.

 Hab 3:17-19

  • Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines;
  • Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food;
  • Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—

(18)  Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  (19)  The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.

The second question in the OP title is predicated on the first one being answered in the affirmative. Has the first question been so answered? I don't see it yet.

Testing? The Lord uses multiple types of testing, i.e., national, global, corporate, and personal testing. As Christians, we can expect personal testing, trials, tribulation, and temptations.

Based on the lateness of the hour, global testing is gaining steam and traction, like birth pains coming on, more frequent, and intense.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

I do not see this end-time global testing suddenly coming on when the Antichrist confirms a seven-year covenant with Israel and the many. Like all the other end of the age prophecy, I also see it coming on with birth pains. Yes, I believe the time of global testing has begun and is escalating.

I cannot speak with authority on what is happening outside of my observations. I rely on non-deceptive and trustworthy sources of news and information.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I can confidently say that people are overly afraid and concerned at our small country Baptist church and community churches. Since this Covid threat started a couple of years ago, we have members and attendees who stopped attending service and have not been back since for fear.

In Hebrews 10:25 above and in context with the meaning, I do not see any qualifying exceptions not to assemble ourselves for collective worship. I don’t know anyone else’s observations, but I see “the day” approaching. What day? Day of the Lord, the coming Tribulation to test the earth-dwellers, culminating with His return to the Mount of Olives.

We can do nothing on our own. The Bible uses qualifiers such as if, stay, and remain in Him, that apply to testing.

Just my two mites worth that didn’t turn hyperinflationary.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
